Marvel Studios has officially announced a new Black Panther Animated Series called Eyes of Wakanda. However, instead of revolving around Black Panther, this new series will bring us, warriors, from the past of Wakanda who set out on adventures around the globe to retrieve dangerous Vibranium artifacts.
Eyes of Wakanda was announced during the exclusive 2 episode screening of What…if? Season 2. The description for this brand-new series reads:
“Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story.”
The revelation of Eyes of Wakanda seems to be a follow-up to a statement Disney made in 2021 which stated that Ryan Coogler, the director of Black Panther will be back with a series on the Wakandan Kingdom
As of now, we do not have an official release date for Eyes of Wakanda but it is expected to be released by the end of 2024.
Along with the revelation of this series, Marvel Studios also confirmed X-Men’97. Along with this, the new name for Spider-man: Freshman Year was revealed to be Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-man.
If we talk about the new X-Men series, X-Men’97 has been given the official release date of January 2, 2024, and Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man has a release date of November 2, 2024.
At the official screening, we did not get any footage from Eyes of Wakanda but we did get to see some from the other two series. From Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, we saw Spidey swing around in a new prototype suit. We also got to see some footage from X-Men’97 where we saw all of our favorite X-Men. We got to see a shot of Wolverine charging at someone with Glowing pink claws charged by Gambit. However, it seems that the central focus of this series will be on Cyclops.
With a number of projects coming up in 2024, let’s wait and see what Marvel Studios has in store for us.
