Huawei is gearing up to show off a number of new innovations at its developer conference next week in China. While we are excited to check out their mysterious HongMeng OS (or Harmony OS, as some leaks suggest), the next iteration of EMUI – EMUI 10 – will also be shown off at the event. But, prior to the conference, a number of teaser images for EMUI 10 have appeared online.

First spotted by Huawei Central, the promo images seen below are live on the company’s Chinese developer portal. They reveal that Huawei is planning a major visual overhaul of the user interface. Current, as well as older versions of EMUI, have often been called out for their cluttered and bloated design. Huawei most likely plans to fix that with their new EMUI 10 update, which will see new iconography, brighter colors, newer design elements for the homescreen, gallery, multi-tasking, and possibly a minimal Settings page.

Just to clear out the air, the teaser may not necessarily show off actual UI elements and could only hint at new features arriving in EMUI 10. Well-known software features like a dark theme mode, GPU Turbo, advanced AI features, and more will be upgraded to offer better functionality. Most importantly, it will be based on Android Q.

In addition, the list of Huawei smartphones that will receive the EMUI 10 update recently leaked online. The Chinese giant seems to have shortlisted 16 smartphones for their upcoming update, as per a screenshot posted on Reddit. You can check out the list right here:

  • P30 Pro
  • P30
  • P30 Lite
  • Mate 20 Pro
  • Mate 20
  • Mate 20 X (+5G variant)
  • Mate 20 Lite
  • Porsche Design Mate 20 RS
  • P20 Pro
  • P20
  • P Smart 2019
  • P Smart Z
  • Mate 10 Pro
  • Mate 10
  • Porsche Design Mate 10

I know, the list does not include the Mate 30 series but it’s because it will come with the EMUI 10 out-of-the-box. Yeah, it will most likely be Huawei’s first Android Q smartphone. So, are you excited to try out the new EMUI 10 experience? What are your expectations from the upcoming update? Tell us in the comments below.
