Death Stranding 2: How to Switch Between Day and Night Cycle

Death Stranding 2 is jam-packed with new additions that transform the gameplay loop compared to the original. While Kojima couldn’t bring the day and night cycle in the first game due to difficulties with the Decima Engine, this feature has been introduced with the sequel. Passing the time in Death Stranding 2 differs from how you smoke to pass the time in Metal Gear Solid V. So, let’s find out the options to pass the hours quickly in Death Stranding 2, changing the day and night cycles.

How to Pass the Time in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach?

First of all, time will pass automatically as you traverse across the lands, but the progression of time this way is naturally slower. The passage of time is alerted with an audio cue. For example, you can hear a rooster crowing when the sun rises and a wolf howling when the night comes up. So, what is the quickest way to pass time in Death Stranding 2? Well, the obvious option is to sleep.

  1. Head over to the nearest Private Room, and Sam will automatically fall asleep as soon as he enters one. Depending on the time you checked in, time will have passed further. For example, if you arrive in the room in the evening, you will wake up at night. Then, you can also choose to get up now or sleep once again till the next cycle comes up.

2. Moreover, if you have changed your mind after waking up, you always have the option to sleep further, highlighted above your bed.

This way, you can switch between the day and night cycle in Death Stranding: On the Beach. This is not a gimmicky feature, as the time cycle impacts your gameplay. For players who prefer stealth, night is the perfect time to sneakily take down enemies, but remember that your visibility is affected at night.

If you want to make a grand entrance and storm the base of your adversaries, then daytime is the ideal option. Hence, the day and night cycle is a welcoming and crucial addition that allows you to strategize your playthrough extensively.
