Dandadan, one of the promising shonen manga, has become a blockbuster hit among the anime community after its extraordinary debut last year. This anime follows the frenetic and spooky journey of Momo Ayase, Okarun, and their friends who are drawn together to solve paranormal activities. Most of the main characters of Dandadan are rooted in a high school setting. So, curious about how old your favorite Dandadan characters are? All Main Character Ages in Dandadan
Although not all of the main characters’ ages have been disclosed directly by author Yukinobu Tatsu in his Dandadan manga, we have described them based on the current information available about these characters. With that said, let’s begin:
1. Momo Ayase – 16-17 Years Old
Momo Ayase, who believes in ghosts more than UFOs, is the central female lead of the Danadan series. The author has not yet revealed the exact age of Momo in the manga. However, we know that Momo Ayase attends her second year at Kami High School, which places her in the 16-17 years age bracket. As a high school girl, Momo is obsessed with the idea of getting a boyfriend who resembles the famous Japanese actor, Ken Takakura.
2. Okarun – 16-17 Years Old
Ken Takakura, better known as Okarun by Momo, is the main male lead of the Dandadan series. As I mentioned earlier, Okarun is a staunch believer in aliens and UFOs, basically all the extraterrestrial. It is noted that Okarun is in his second year at Kami High, the same as Momo; thus, Okarun should also be either 16 or 17 years old in Dandadan. He crosses paths with Momo Ayase in high school, and his life changes forever after their fated meeting.
3. Seiko Ayase – 55-60 Years Old
First-time Dandadan viewers often mistake Seiko Ayase as Momo’s mother primarily due to her younger appearance. However, it is revealed soon that Seiko is Momo Ayase’s grandmother. Yes, don’t be fooled by her beauty, as Seiko is an old and famous spirit medium in the series.
So, what is the granny’s age in Dandadan, you ask? Seiko’s age hasn’t been revealed by the author yet. Nevertheless, she is expected to be either in her 50s or 60s as she is a grandma. Some fans even commented that she could be in her 80s, but we won’t know for sure until the author reveals her accurate age in the manga.
4. Aira Shiratori – 16-17 Years Old
Aira Shiratori, initially seen as one of the side characters, soon became one of the main characters in Dandadan. Aira is a second-year student at Kami High and a popular figure among her peers. Since she also studies in the second year, Aira falls belongs to the same 16-17 age group as Momo and Okarun.
5. Jiji – 16-17 years Old
Jin Enjoji, shortly known as Jiji, joined the ever-growing list of main characters in Dandadan in the Serpo arc. If you keenly observed, you might have noticed him in Momo’s flashback earlier, as he was the first crush of our protagonist. Jiji had to move away when he was a kid; however, he later joined Momo in her high school after his parents were hospitalized. Jiji is in the same class as Momo, and so he is around the same age as Momo, i.e., 16-17 years old in the story.
6. Turbo Granny – Centuries Old
Turbo Granny, one of the earliest yokai villains in the series, ended up as a supporting character in Dandadan after her soul was imprisoned in a cat doll. Turbo Granny from Dandadan was actually inspired by a real-life Japanese Urban Legend. Since she is a yokai born from an ancient myth, Turbo Granny’s origins may date back centuries.
7. Rin Sawaki – 16-17 years Old
Not even the class representative in Kami High School is safe from encountering paranormal activities, as Rin Kawaki soon finds herself as an ally of Momo and Okarun in Dandadan. The class rep also lies within the same age category as Momo, Okarun, and the other students we have here, i.e., 16-17 years old.
8. Kinta Sakata – 16-17 years Old
Kami High School students’ lives can’t stop getting intertwined in paranormal events as Kinta Sakata joins Momo and Okarun in their paranormal adventures. He is yet to make his debut in the Dandadan anime, but manga fans know that he is similar in age to Momo and Okarun, which makes him 16 to 17 years old in Dandadan.
9. Vamola – 16-17 years Old
Bamora, better known by her official English name, Vamola, is also an antagonist-turned-main character in Dandadan. Unlike the other main characters, Vamola is confirmed to be an alien coming from the Sumer planet. However, Vamola and the rest of the main characters are close in age, as she is also around 16-17 years old.
