After officially announcing Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 at Anime Expo 2025, studio TRIGGER has now confirmed that the second season will release in Fall 2026. Thus, we don’t have a concrete release date for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 at the moment, but we can expect all episodes to drop on the same day later this year.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Story
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 1 is the life story of David and Lucy, but their story concluded with the first season, and the couple reunited in a collaboration. So, no matter how hard it is for fans to accept, David or Lucy won’t return in Season 2. Instead, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 will feature a standalone story featuring a new set of characters: Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang.
So, the paths of a former Edgerunner without chrome, a Snake Nation Netrunner seeking revenge, a young cinephile filming lives in the Night City, and a violent corporate executive will get intertwined in the second season. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 pulls you back into Night City, where lives become entangled to the extreme. How Many Episodes Will Be in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2?
In line with the first season, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will consist of 10 episodes. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that David and his gang won’t be coming back in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. Instead, the second season brings a fresh cast of characters from Night City rather than the new Chicago-inspired city featured in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2. Studio TRIGGER has officially revealed the character descriptions for each new face in season 2, as follows:
- Weak Kingsley: Once known as “King,” a veteran edgerunner at the top of his game, Weak now lives in the shadow of his former glory.
- D: A Snake Nation netrunner with sharp technical skills and a sharper hunger for revenge, D hunts the killer who wiped out his clan.
- Roman Carax: Roman Carax is a young cinephile chasing real stories in a city that’s abandoned film for braindance. Obsessed with documenting truth, he shadows the lives of others only to learn that, unlike his favorite reels, Night City’s stories are messy, brutal, and rarely tied up with a clean ending.
- Talia Yang: Raised in corpo towers but hardened in Maelstrom’s grip, Talia is fiercely independent and steeped in the gang’s hyper-violent, chrome-obsessed culture.
