- According to dataminers, Season 5 could finally open up Stadium's roof and allow players to explore its interior.
A new season of Warzone is on the horizon in what will likely be the penultimate content update built around the game’s integration with Black Ops 6. Season 4 had a lukewarm reception as it didn’t deliver a ton in terms of new content. Aside from a small selection of new weapons, the update saw the return of Havoc game mode and added a new POI at the heart of Downtown. Fans will certainly be hoping that Season 5 has a lot more meat on its bones, and while official details are yet to be revealed, leaks have already hinted at some of the new content en route. So, here’s everything to know so far about the Warzone Season 5 update.
Warzone Season 5 Release Date
Warzone Season 5 is expected to release on Thursday, August 7, at 9:00 AM PT (12:00 PM ET/5:00 PM GMT). As always, the release date was revealed by Season 4’s Battle Pass timer, but there’s a chance Season 5 may face a delay, considering the last seasonal update was also delayed.
Nevertheless, new seasons typically start during the first and last weeks of a given month, so the date certainly lines up with their traditional release cadence.
Warzone Season 5 Expected Content
Information from dataminers has given players a glimpse of some of the new features coming to Black Ops 6, and by extension, Warzone. For a comprehensive look at the new content, we’ll have to wait for the official season intel drop. But until then, here’s all the confirmed and leaked content coming with Season 5:
New Weapons
The Season 4 outro cinematic confirmed that the M249 LMG will be coming to the game. Aside from this, here are some of the weapons discovered by dataminers in Black Ops 6’s files:
- APS Underwater Rifle
- Uzi
- MP40
- M60
- Brass Knuckles
- Boxing Gloves
- Chainsaw
There’s a slim chance that we’ll see all of these weapons in Warzone Season 5, although franchise staples such as the MP40 will likely make an appearance. We’ll be sure to update this section once more weapons are confirmed.
Verdansk Updates

Even since Verdansk’s return, seasonal updates have slowly been re-introducing the map’s trademark features, such as its various bunkers and locked safes, as well as the moving train. In line with this pattern, Season 5 will likely see Stadium’s roof open up, allowing players to access its interiors. Leaks from dataminers have added credibility to this rumor, and they also unearthed references to a boardroom and computer room within the Stadium.
Beyond the new weapons and map updates, Warzone Season 5 will undoubtedly bring new modes, fresh in-game events, and a host of weapon balancing changes. We’ll be updating this article as soon as new information is released, so make sure to bookmark it and keep up with the latest updates.
