Here’s how to check Notification History on Android, a hidden feature that has been present since Android 12.

Now, the Notification history feature isn’t enabled by default, and you’d need to do it from Settings to see the history. If you haven’t enabled it already, let’s look at how to do that as well.

  1. Swipe down from the top to open the quick settings panel.
  2. Tap on No notifications to quickly go to the Notification History setting.
  3. Then, turn on the Use notification history toggle to enable Notification history.

Notification history from settings

The Notification history page shows you the recently dismissed notifications as well as all notifications you received in the last 24 hours. It can also come in handy when you can’t seem to find a particular notification that appeared on the day.

The Notification history feature can be found on all Android 12+ devices. Although the first shortcut method may not work on all phones, you will find the feature in the Settings app.

Samsung is an exception to this as after going to the Notifications menu in One UI, you’d need to go to Advanced Settings to access the Notification history feature.

Did you know that you can also use the feature to look up a deleted WhatsApp message? Pretty cool. What are your thoughts on the Notification history feature? Let us know in the comments below.
