- Black Ops 6 Season 4 is set to arrive on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

- Besides all the new content, players can also look forward to the Ballerina event, which is a crossover with the upcoming action flick.
The release of Black Ops 6 Season 4 is on the horizon, with the final bits of Season 3 Reloaded trickling their way into the game. The mid-season update continued Call of Duty’s love affair with 4/20 via the High Art event alongside the series debut of Seth Rogen. It now bids farewell to the game with the CODE: Got Your Six event scheduled to finish at the end of May, making room for the highly anticipated Season 4 update. As for what’s in store for players, the devs have provided official details on all the new content coming to the game. With this in mind, here’s everything to know about the upcoming Black Ops 6 Season 4, including its release date, new weapons, maps, and more.
Black Ops 6 Season 4 Release Date
Black Ops 6 Season 4 will be released on Thursday, May 29, 2025. As usual, the Battle Pass timer gives the release date away, which is scheduled to end on this date. The same was recently confirmed by the official Call of Duty X account. New seasonal updates usually kick off at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST.
Black Ops 6 Season 4 Content
The BO6 Season 4 roadmap looks jam-packed in almost every department, although the lack of a new Zombies map is a bit of a letdown. Nevertheless, here’s a look at the new weapons, maps, LTMs, and more.
New Weapons

- FFAR: Full-auto assault rifle. Very high rate of fire and excellent CQB power, but slower handling and mobility.
- LC10: Full-auto submachine gun. Excellent accuracy and range, with a moderate rate of fire. Average mobility and very slow handling for its class.
- Essex Model 07: Classic lever-action marksman rifle. High damage potential. Balanced by a slower rate of fire and handling.
- Olympia: A Double-barrel shotgun with very high damage and respectable range, but requires frequent reloading.
- Picaxe: Deadly Melee weapon that downs unarmored enemies with brutal severity. Though its range is short, the Pickaxe’s combination of rapid slashes and overhead swipes can halt enemies in their tracks.
The FFAR and LC10 were initially spotted by eagle-eyed players in the Season 3 Outro Cinematic, which all but confirmed their return in Season 4. Both weapons previously appeared in Black Ops: Cold War, with the FFAR being a high-recoil iteration of the FAMAS, while the LC10 is a fast-firing SMG that ranked consistently among the best-performers in the title’s multiplayer.
The Olympia is a double-barrel shotgun, and a classic Black Ops weapon set to make its return. The prolific weapon dominates close-range engagements, although its capabilities at range leave much to be desired. Speaking of classic weapons, the Essex Model 07, which made its name through Black Ops 4 Zombies, is also back, offering the same high-damage potential offset by clunky handling.
New Attachments
Three new attachments are hitting Black Ops 6 with the launch of Season 4:
- G-Grip (SMGs/ARs): Obtainable via the Battle Pass, the G-Grip is essentially a Vertical Foregrip with a laser slapped on, offering improved firing stability, horizontal recoil control, and tightened spread when transitioning between hipfire and aiming down sights.
- Stryder .22 3-Round Burst Mod: Converts the Stryder .22 into a 3-round burst. Drastically improves fire rate and maintains manageable gun kick, but alters the weapon’s damage profile outside of the effective range.
- SVD Full Auto Mod: Many players will be looking at this in-season event reward, which does exactly what it says on the tin: converts the SVD to a fully automatic weapon.
- TR2 CQB Auto Conversion: Alters the TR2 Marksman Rifle to fire handgun caliber rounds, resulting in a Marksman Rifle with a compact frame and fully automatic capabilities that rival the fire rates of an SMG.
New Scorestreak
The Grim Reaper Scorestreak will also return alongside Season 4. Alternatively known as the M202 FLASH, the Grim Reaper has appeared in many CoD titles, including Black Ops 1. It’s a quad-barrel semi-automatic rocket launcher that can fire four projectiles before requiring a reload. While the launcher will almost come in handy against enemies, we’ll have to wait and see how viable it is to down airships.
New Maps
Season 4 will feature three new multiplayer maps at launch, with an additional two arriving as part of mid-season content:
- Shutdown: A small-sized 6v6 map set on the volcanic, rugged terrain of an Icelandic Hydroelectric Plant. The map features water sections, and other fixtures like a wrecked Turbine, a Yard, a Pumphouse, and a Canteen.
- Fugitive: This one’s a medium-sized 6v6 map that takes place within a CIA Black Site. The lighting is dim, and the corridors claustrophobic, but there’s plenty of room to get lost in thanks to its multi-level layout, with shortcuts to the various outside areas like the Checkpoint, Courtyard, and Recreation Yard.
- Blitz: A small-sized Strike map, Blitz represents the final part of Adler’s daring prison break plan. Traffic comes to a screeching halt as destroyed vehicles are lined up across the central bridge, making for a chaotic arena of fast-paced combat. Fortunately, there’s room to roam around the sides as players can venture towards the Cliffside or move inland, ambushing enemies at the Waterfall.
As for the two post-launch maps, Eclipse occurs within a glitzy Avalon nightclub. It’s a compact arena featuring a dance floor at the center, destructible walls on the sides, and neon lights flashing throughout.
The real post-launch headliner is Fringe, the beloved Black Ops 3 map reimagined for BO6. Set around the Rolling Hill distillery, this idyllic location hosts some classic three-lane combat, with various accessible buildings scattered throughout.
New Modes
On the game modes front, Season 4 will feature two new modes at launch, and more follow in the mid-season update:
- Team Elimination: In this twist on Kill Confirmed, two teams are given a limited number of lives each round as they fight to be the last surviving team. Players drop a dog tag on death that the enemy can pick up to confirm the kill or by a teammate to deny the opposing team. Survive longer than the other team or hold the most remaining lives when the timer ends to win the round.
- One in the Chamber: Another Black Ops fan-favorite mode returns as One in the Chamber shows up in Season 04. In this free-for-all mode, each Operator is given one pistol, one bullet, a knife, and three lives. Precision is king, as bullets always eliminate on impact, and the only way to earn another bullet is to get an elimination. At the end of the match, the top three scoring Operators will step up to the Winner’s Circle.
Party Ops is the third new game mode arriving at a later date. Details are scarce at the moment, and all we know is that players will compete in a randomized set of party-themed minigames.
New Events
Two in-season events are coming to Call of Duty, with more to follow in the Season 4 Reloaded update:
- Ballerina: In collaboration with the upcoming film, the Ballerina event brings several elements from the John Wick universe to B06. As part of its rewards tree, players can earn the Essex Model 07 Marksman Rifle and a Ballerina-themed Nunchuck Melee Blueprint for BlackCell Owners.
- Rivals: Continuing the post-launch narrative, the Rivals event is themed around Stitch going from foe to friend. It tasks players with earning XP across all game modes to unlock a plethora of impressive free items, including the Stryder .22 3-Round Burst Mod and Grim Reaper.
New Operators
Call of Duty veterans will know that no character stays dead in the franchise. Case in point: Stitch, the core antagonist in BO: Cold War’s post-launch content, was shot by Adler during the game’s final cutscene. This led most players to believe that the Perseus successor is gone for good, but the Season 3 Outro Cinematic said otherwise.
In it, the camera swept through a prison facility before focusing on a nameplate that reads Vikhor ‘Stitch’ Kuzmin. This hinted that the ex-KGB agent survived the gunshot and was captured by Adler, before the Season 4 reveal confirmed that he’s going to be used as an intelligence asset against the Pantheon. Besides Stitch, two other operators, including a BlackCell skin named Omen and Ballerina’s Eve Macarro, are also coming to the game.
New Zombies Content
While the Season 4 blog does not mention a new Zombies map, there’s still some welcome news as Grief is returning. Last seen in Black Ops 2, the fan-favorite Zombies mode pits two teams of four against each other, each pledging loyalty to either S.A.M. or Director Richtofen.
The objective is to down other team members using non-ballistic means since you can’t directly damage them. This means players must rely on tactics like body blocking and slowing opponents down using melee weapons and projectiles to box them in, as the surrounding zombies do the dirty work.
Season 4 will feature a total of 11 Grief arenas spread out across Liberty Falls, Terminus, Citadelle des Morts, The Tomb, and Shattered Veil. Aside from this, new Dark Ops Challenges will arrive alongside the update, bringing hidden Calling Cards and bounteous amounts of XP.
In the mid-season update, players can look forward to two new LTMs, namely Starting Room and Abomination Challenges. The former traps you in the first zone of a map with the only objective being survival, while the latter transports the Zombies crew to a warped version of Liberty Falls to hunt down an ultra-powered-up Abomination.
That’s not at all, as three new GobbleGums are also hitting Zombies. These include Explosive Flourish, which creates an explosion around the player while reloading a weapon, Flavor Hex, which activates a random ultra GobbleGum. And lastly, Rainburps that cause zombies to belch sparkly rainbow bubbles upon dying.
That covers everything we know about Black Ops 6 Season 4 so far. We’ll be sure to update this article once new information arrives. Until then, which new weapon are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments.
