Smartphone cameras have become so good that most of us can take great pictures. Now, you can buy camera phones under 30,000 INR which can take photos better than even some of the dedicated cameras in that price range. I also love the fact that camera phones make it very easy to take photos. All you need to do is point and shoot with a steady hand and your camera phone will take care of the rest. That said, not all camera phones are made equally and there are some camera phones which are better than others. In order to help our readers find the best camera phones, we are listing down the 8 best camera phones under 30000 INR which they can buy to capture their lives’ favorite moments:
Best Camera Phones Under 30000 INR (August 2018)
1. Asus ZenFone 5Z
Taking the second spot on the list is the latest flagship to enter the market, the Asus Zenfone 5Z. The device not only undercuts the OnePlus 6 when it comes to pricing, but also features a significanlty better camera setup. On paper, the Zenfone 5Z has a 12MP f/1.8 primary + 8MP f/ 2.0 wide-angle secondary camera setup on the back with PDAF, OIS and EIS which makes the camera both stable and snappy. The camera not only takes great pictures from the get go, but also has a very comprehensive pro mode to go along which will allow you to adjust even the most minute of details before you take a picture. However, the device does tend to over-sharpen images a bit, which creates a bit of noise in the end result.
While the Zenfone FZ does have portrait mode, it’s barely usable as the edge detection is pretty bad. We hope Asus can fix that in a subsequent software update. Up front, the Zenfone 5Z has an 8MP f/2.0 shooter with EIS which delivers great selfies and is also good for recording videos or making video calls as the video output is pretty stable. The front camera also has a portrait mode, but just like the rear cameras, it’s barely usable. Another downside of the front camera is its low light performance, the camera isn’t able to capture sufficient amount of light and the photos clicked in low light conditions turn out noisy and over exposed.
Other specifications: Snapdragon 845 chipset, Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

2. Honor View 10
Honor View 10 is my favorite camera phone on this list as it brings a primary camera which boasts of a 16MP+20MP dual-camera setup and can take some really amazing photos. However, the thing which I think gives the Honor View 10 an edge over other capable camera phones on this list is the aperture size of those lenses. The Honor view 10 offers a wide aperture ranging from f/.95 to f/16 which is just crazy. This helps the smartphone in capturing images with rich colors and pixel-perfect sharpness. The megapixels help in generating highly detailed images which don’t lose quality even while zooming at high levels.
If you want you can also check out our full review of the device which will give you an in-depth look at the camera performance along with camera samples. When it comes to the front-facing camera, the View 10 features a 13MP sensor which is great for selfies. That said, the Vivo V9 does have a slight advantage over the View 10 when it comes to front-facing camera shots. Still, the overall camera performance of Honor View 10 is undeniably great and you cannot go wrong with this camera phone.

3. Vivo V9
We will start our list with a phone from the smartphone company which made its name in India because of its camera phones. When Vivo entered India, the smartphone market was already crowded. Hence to differentiate itself from the competitors, the company focused and highlighted the cameras in their smartphones. As a result, Vivo makes some decent camera phones in the market and Vivo V9 is a prime example of that. The Vivo V9 brings a dual-camera setup with a 16MP and a 5MP sensor. The smartphone takes some really stunning photos. The camera offers various features including slow motion, AI face beauty, time-lapse photography, live photo, bokeh mode, AR sticker, AR stickers, 4K video, and more.
I especially love the portrait shots that I take from this smartphone as they offer very good subject identification with natural blurs in the background. The smartphone also packs a 24MP front-facing camera which is great for selfies. Whether you take pictures of others or you love taking your own selfies, this camera phone is not going to disappoint you. Apart from the camera, the smartphone also packs 6.3-inch edge-to-edge screen, Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory which not only makes the Vivo V9 a great camera phone but also a very good overall smartphone.

4. Nokia 7 Plus
When HMD Global announced Nokia 7 Plus, we were eagerly waiting for the smartphone to launch in India as it had everything that a mid-range flagship device should bring. After making us wait for a long time, Nokia finally released the Nokia 7 Plus a few weeks back and to be frank, the smartphone impressed the hell out of us. The phone has everything going for it. From its beautiful display to excellent build quality to crazy performance, everything about this phone screams premium.
When it comes to the cameras itself, the 7 Plus brings a dual-camera setup with dual 12MP sensors with f/1.75 and f/2.6 apertures. Needless to say, the camera takes great photos and videos. The only problem that we found with the phone’s camera was its low light performance, however, that too has improved overtime with software updates. The front-facing camera brings 16MP (f/2.0) camera which takes great selfies. One of the best thing about Nokia 7 Plus’s front-facing shooter is that even it can toke portrait shots which is just incredible. Overall, the smartphone is a beast with really good camera performance.

5. Huawei Nova 3i
Huawei Nova 3i is turning out to be one hell of a smartphone. Not only it packs respectable specs but it is also one of the first mid-range smartphones to bring dual-camera sensors both at the back and at the front. The smartphone packs a 16 MP (f/2.2) + 2 MP sensors as its primary camera along with a 24 MP + 2 MP dual-camera sensor serving as the selfie shooter. As you can see, at its price, it is really hard to beat the Huawei Nova 3i. While we have not tested these cameras yet, if Huawei’s past is any indicator, the Nova 3i will blow its competitors out of the water.
Apart from the cameras, the smartphone also brings a fairly respectable spec-sheet. Firstly, the Huawei Nova 3i is being powered by Huawei’s latest Hisilicon Kirin 710 processor which is built-on Huawei’s latest 12 nm construction. What this means is that not only the processor is powerful, it is also power efficient. The smartphone also packs a beautiful 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, giving it a pixel density of ~409 PPI. The display looks really nice and is certainly one of the best displays in its price range. Overall, the Nova 3i is a great smartphone, however, its unique selling point is its cameras and that’s why it’s on this list.

6. OPPO F7
OPPO F7 is one of the finest camera phones to hit the market this year. That said, OPPO F7 is not for everyone as it is primarily a selfie-focused camera phone. The phone packs a whopping 25MP front-facing camera and a 16MP primary shooter. The selfie shooter on this phone is the best in the list and can take some incredibly good shots. The photos have nice colors, ample details, and sufficiently good dynamic range. Selfie camera aside, even the primary camera which only features a single-camera setup performs really well.
The photos capture a ton of details and the color accuracy is just on point. I was highly impressed with the macro shots that I took with the F7’s camera as the subject was always in focus with no noise or softness around the edges. Also, despite featuring a single camera setup at both front and the back, the phone can capture portrait shots. While the implementation of portrait shots is not as good as the one on the Pixel 2, it’s not bad either. If you are a selfie lover, you are going to love this smartphone.

7. LG G6
Before you start complaining that the LG G6 is last year’s smartphone, I just want to let you know that I know that. However, do you know that the LG G6 was one of the most underrated flagship smartphone of last year? Even at an year old, it’s Snapdragon 821 processor will blow every smartphone on this list out of the water. Performance aside, LG G6 is also one of the few smartphones that feature a wide-angle lens which I adore. Going into the raw specs, the primary camera of this smartphone features a dual-camera setup with dual 13MP sensors.
The benefit of wide angle lens is that it can fit a bigger area in the frame allowing you to take great nature shots. It also comes in handy when you are in a closed space and don’t have the option to walk back from the subject to capture a bigger area. When it comes to the pictures itself, the lG G6 takes photos which has great dynamic range, ample details, and vibrant and vivid colors. The front-facing camera which is a 5MP shooter takes good selfies. It is nothing special but gets the job done. The point is that you are primarily buying this phone for its primary camera setup which takes great photos.

8. Honor 8 Pro
Honor phones are known for their camera quality and Honor 8 Pro is one of the best camera phones you can buy in this price range. The smartphone brings a 12MP+12MP dual-camera setup at the back along with an 8MP front facing shooter. One unique thing about the Honor 8’s primary camera setup is that one of the sensors is a monochrome sensor. The monochrome sensor not only allows you to take some really cool black and white shots, but it also improves the overall picture quality. The Honor 8 Pro basically takes picture with both the sensors and then combines them to produce a picture which has great dynamic range, good details, and true to life color accuracy.
The Honor 8 Pro also takes very good portrait shots with well-defined edges and good blurring of the background. The front-facing sensor doesn’t disappoint too. It takes some really cool selfies. Overall, the camera performs quite well in the outdoor situations, however, as it is with camera phones in this price range, the low-light performance is not that great. If you don’t take a ton of low-light shots, this is a great camera phone for you.
