7 Best Abilities for Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2, for all its next-gen upgrades, also comes with several handy skills and abilities for each of our superheroes. However, a lot of variety can also lead to confusion about which ability you should actually choose. We had the same confusion, so after beating the game, we sat down and went through all of them to create a list. So, without further delay, here are the best abilities for Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2.

Note: There are massive spoilers for the Spider-Man 2 game below. So if you haven’t played the game yet, we advise proceeding with caution.

Best Venom Abilities for Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2

Around a quarter way through the game, Peter receives the Venom suit, which slowly starts giving him abilities. While all of them are quite amazing, these are the best ones, in our opinion.

1. Symbiote Punch

We start the list with one of the best and most wanted abilities for Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2. The Symbiote Punch, like its Venom counterpart, is a quick yet devastating attack you can unleash on your enemy. However, unlike Miles, Peter wields this punch with much more ferocity, making it all the more deadly. The Symbiote Punch, in essence, unleashes a tentacle punch that knocks enemies back.

Symbiote Punch Spiderman 2

If the enemies are close enough to structures, the punch even sticks them to walls or floors, thereby taking them out immediately. However, even though Symbiote Punch only focuses on one enemy, it greatly affects the area around, also making it a good control punch for multiple hostiles. So when starting out with your Venom suit, equip this ability.

2. Symbiote Blast

In many ways, the Symbiote Blast just hints at a Peter who is extremely frustrated. As such, that ability mirrors that emotion. The Symbiote Blast is a largely effective outward blast that happens through the Venom suit. When used, the suit launches symbiote spikes in all different directions. This ability has a multi-faceted effect.

Not only does it immediately damage enemies, but it also throws them back with force. This, as before, can result in them being stuck or walls or plain knocked out if damaged enough. Furthermore, Symbiote Blast is relatively quick to recharge, making it handy to be used repeatedly.

3. Symbiote Strike

If you have gone through our list of the best Spider-Man 2 skills, you already know about this one. For those unaware, Symbiote Strike is an extremely damaging and aggressive ability Peter gains with the Venom suit. The Strike causes Peter to take to the air, explode with dozens of tentacles, and charge towards enemies.

Anyone standing in the way is pulled in and thrown back once the move ends. If the Symbiote Strike is made too close to a wall, the Venom suit will paste them there. This is a group attack and hence works towards multiple enemies. Thus, make sure to grab the Symbiote Strike ability for Peter.

4. Symbiote Yank

After the punch, the Symbiote Yank was one of the most exciting abilities we saw in gameplay trailers. While the Yank is also a quick crowd-control ability, it adds power, both physically and aesthetically. Put simply, the Symbiote Yank enables Peter to push out multiple tentacles from his hand that grab enemies and pull them toward him.

However, as mentioned before, this ability is more akin to actually slamming them down into the ground. While initially restricted to just four, the Yank can be upgraded to ignore this limit. This means you can grab as many as ten enemies at once at its prime, thereby making the Symbiote Yank a force to be reckoned with.

Best Anti-Venom and Normal Abilities for Peter Parker

Besides the amazing Venom abilities, Spider-Man 2 also has abilities from previous games up its sleeve. Furthermore, players also get some interesting anti-Venom abilities that come in handy towards the second half. Let’s check out the best of them for Peter Parker below.

5. Anti-Venom Bomb

As you progress in Spider-Man 2, you will start to encounter Venom-based enemies that will give you a serious run for your money. While these mini venoms can be defeated by normal Spidey attacks, Peter gets an amazing suit later that gives him anti-venom powers. One of these powers is the anti-Venom bomb.

True to what it says, this ability makes Peter throw a volatile symbiote projectile, which explodes on contact. Since it’s a bomb, it damages all the enemies in the blast radius. The anti-Venom bomb destroys most enemies in one go and knocks back the ones who are still alive. So the next time you feel outnumbered, make sure to use this ability for Peter in Spider-Man 2.

6. Spider Rush

One of the coolest and fastest abilities for Peter in Spider-Man 2 is Spider Rush. Utilizing the spider exoskeleton we saw in the 2018 game, the Spider Rush makes Peter gain tension through the ground and propel himself forward. Naturally, all the enemies around your path are automatically damaged and smashed against the walls, if any.

However, do note that the cone of effect isn’t very huge, so at most, you will catch a total of three enemies in the area. But given the fact that enemies in Spider-Man 2 sometimes bunch up, a well-executed Spider Rush attack can take them out at once. Give this early-game ability a shot by equipping Peter with it.

7. Spider Barrage

The Spider arms that extended above can be used for a lot more attacks than just rushing enemies. For instance, the Spider Barrage is an ability that unleashes a series of attacks through the spider’s arms. These quick yet heavy attacks damage foes and, therefore, make them excellent for taking out a single foe or two quickly.

While the beginning moves are quick, the end of Spider Barrage knocks back the enemy with heavy force to wipe them off completely. It’s worth pairing this ability up with one of the Venom abilities above to get a nice set going. So the next time you’re looking for a nice combination, keep the Spider Barrage in mind.

We hope you make your fights easier by equipping the above abilities for Peter in Spider-Man 2. Remember that Miles too has his own set of abilities, so make sure to check them out to get an idea of which ones to use. Already done?
