In Arc Raiders, players need to experiment and perfect the best loadout for the raid on the topside to boost their odds of survival. The long time taken to craft the survival gear cannot be blamed solely on the raiders; it is just how the Arc Raiders’ crafting system works.
Thus, for a long time, raiders clamored and pleaded to Embark devs to overhaul the Arc Raiders crafting system. Five months after the game’s release, a new update has brought major changes to the crafting system in Arc Raiders, and it has redefined survival in the game.
Arc Raiders Just Made Crafting Smarter, Quicker, and Far More Rewarding
It doesn’t matter whether you are a raider who has been playing Arc Raiders since the game’s launch or just hopped into the game only recently; everyone knows how painful crafting can be. With various actions existing in separate sections, the time it takes to craft a weapon or a loadout sometimes lasts longer than an entire raid. Raiders are basically forced to spend as much time as a raid period in Speranza, which was one of the few downsides of the game.
Before the update, crafting weapons, grenades, and gadgets was really a chore. The frustration builds up slowly as you start crafting while your whole squad is waiting for you to kick off the raid. It gets extremely time-consuming, hard to remember, and frustrating, so sometimes my friends and I would opt for free loadouts to save ourselves the trouble. Now, with just a single Arc Raiders update, all my animosity towards the crafting menu has been completely eliminated.
The most-awaited Flashpoint update added new weapons, a new ARC enemy (Vaporizer), and more. But the highlight of this new update for me and the millions of raiders is undoubtedly the new crafting system. The devs have finally listened to player demand and made several quality-of-life improvements to the Arc Raiders crafting menu. Now this finally lets the raiders craft anything without any hassle.
If you are crafting a weapon, you can now craft the necessary resources, obtain the required materials through recycling, or buy them from Celeste in one place without having to switch between different menus.
And if you don’t have enough resources, you will be informed and provided with info on where to find them in the same menu as well. Therefore, performing recycling, refining, and crafting in a single place in Arc Raiders is simply a game-changer.
Arc Raiders Finally Respects Your Time — But It’s Not Quite There Yet
It’s so good to see the revamped crafting system, but I still feel there is room for improvement. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining that the new crafting update is disappointing, like a part of the Raiders community feels after the new Flashpoint update. However, I would like to point out a few areas in the new crafting system that Embark devs can still improve from here.
Within the current crafting menu, the options to craft resources, recycle, or purchase from Celeste can be segregated and streamlined to make it much easier. Then, devs can introduce another most-requested feature from players, allowing raiders to save different loadouts. So players can craft and assemble their loadouts even faster, depending on the raid scenario they are going for, either to hunt humans or ARC enemies.
We all understand that crafting is a core part of the game, but that simply doesn’t mean we can take every raider’s precious time for granted. Some raiders like the way of crafting items the hard way, but let’s remember not everyone has the luxury of playing Arc Raiders for hours throughout the day.
So, Embark has finally delivered a crafting system that significantly reduces the amount of time we spend on crafting. Now, everyone can get their crafting done in minutes and kick off their raiding session with their squad without any delays. We hope that devs continue to make the crafting system in Arc Raiders more accessible to raiders around the world.
