Honkai Star Rail is entering its biggest arc yet in 2025, trailblazing the eternal land Amphoreus. With Penacony being a massive success, the bar for Amphoreus is set high. With the new world taking place in an ancient Greek theme and the link-up to Remembrance and Fuli, I have much expectation from the upcoming trailblazing arc. There are many mysteries linked to the Remembrance, especially March 7th’s past, we will likely uncover all of them in the next arc. Here are 5 things I expect from Amphoreus in Honkai Star Rail in 2025.
1. Massive Battles
Amphoreus is set in an ancient Greek theme and the first thing that comes to my mind about ancient Greece are grandstanding battles, massive colosseums, and a philosophical depth. From the recent trailers on Amphoreus, we have a clear idea that Amphoreus is currently in a state of war.
With the entire premise being around war, especially setting a dark and grim tone, complete 180 of the Penacony trailer, we can expect massive battles from the get-go. What I particularly want from Amphoreus is that the developers don’t hold back when it comes to battles, a truly show a massive war and their actual repercussions.
2. March 7th’s Backstory
It’s been a long time since we last got a peek into March 7th’s backstory. From her companion quest — Total Recall, in Xianzhou Luofu, the Messenger of the Garden of Recollection in the Astral Express revealed that the March 7th past was hidden to keep her from getting hurt. She also mentions that what happened in her past was just an illusion and that whatever she does now is going to be her real experience. This hints towards a dark past for March 7th and it is likely connected to Amphoreus.
First, March 7th was found in a block of Ice roaming around the Astral Sea by the Express. Amphoreus is the domain of Fuli and the Remembrance, which is tied to Ice. Also, one of the hidden heirs of Chryos revealed during the Amphoreus trailer looked oddly similar to March 7th. My guess is that March 7th did something terrible or went through something terrible in Amphoreus, which is she had her memory sealed away to hide herself from the guilt or pain. All of this will likely unfold in Amphoreus and I cannot wait to learn more in version 3.0.
3. Backstory of Dr. Ratio
Like March 7th, the origin of Dr. Ratio is also shrouded in mystery. Although we have read about Dr. Ratio’s exploits growing up from the words of his professors, we never learn the name of his home planet or whether he studied on his home planet or somewhere else. With the Drip Marketing of Aglaea and the trailer of Amphoreus showing an ancient Greek theme, a possibility opened that Dr. Ratio might be a native of Amphoreus.
Dr. Ratio also dresses in a similar fashion and none of the other characters we have seen in the lore dress in a similar way other than the characters in Amphoreus showcased during the trailer. Hopefully, Dr. Ratio is also connected to Amphoreus in some way and we get to learn more about his backstory.
4. Return of the Freeze Meta
Honkai Star Rail has lately been terrible for characters with Ice damage type. This is mainly because most of the enemies in Penacony didn’t have Ice weakness, making characters like Jingliu unusable in the recent runs of Memory of Chaos. With Amphoreus, I think the freeze meta will make a comeback.
This speculation is mainly based on Amphoreus having the Remembrance path, which has always been connected to Ice and Freeze in the Simulated Universe. Another hint is the release of the real Herta in version 3.0, who is going to be an Ice character. As Herta is an Emanator of Erudition, she cannot look weak in the game. This likely means that Amphoreus will also feature more enemies with Ice weaknesses.
5. Involvement of Enigmata
Amphoreus is the home of Remembrance, and that likely means we would also see one of their adversaries come into play — The Enigmata. This again is just a theory from my end, but I feel the introduction of Enigmata in Penacony was a build-up for their involvement in Amphoreus. Enigmata distorts the history while Remembrance records it accurately. Remembrance might have a showdown between the factions of these two Aeons.
