Cyrene is the most anticipated Honkai Star Rail character in Amphoreus. The entire Amphoreus saga is a lead-up to Cyrene’s character release, which is why I am incredibly disappointed to have decided to skip on her in HSR 3.7. Yes, I do want to pull for Cyrene, but her kit has multiple problems that are hard to overlook for F2P or low-spending players. So, here are four reasons I am skipping Cyrene in Honkai Star Rail and why you should too.
1. Ultimate Recharge Time
Cyrene’s biggest issue as a character is her Ultimate recharge time. She takes multiple turns to get her Ultimate up, as it is not based on Energy. But that wouldn’t have been an issue if Cyrene’s kit weren’t so heavily dependent on using her Ultimate. She basically does nothing of value compared to other supports until her Ultimate is used. This makes Cyrene a potential nightmare for zero-cycle challenges or game modes that require you to finish within a certain number of turns.
2. Not Necessary for Most Teams
Another important fact about Cyrene is that she isn’t necessary for any team in Honkai Star Rail. Yes, Cyrene’s kit does give a specific buff for each Chrysos Heir, and she does fit into many of the Amphoreus Chrysos Heir teams. However, she is not required to make any of those teams work. Having her presence would make some of those teams perform better, but their previous best teams are good enough for most challenges in Honkai Star Rail. The only exception to this is Mydei, who hugely benefits from having Cyrene in the team.
3. Not Free To Play Friendly
Cyrene is one of the least free-to-play-friendly characters in the game. To play Cyrene optimally, you do need her Signature Light Cone and Eidolons. This became evident when Hoyoverse used an E6 version of Cyrene for the showcase during the HSR 3.7 livestream. If the developers have to use an E6 character for a showcase, you know that she won’t be feeling very good as an E0. Also, seeing how little Cyrene brings to most teams in the game, F2P players are better off investing in other universal supports like Tribbie, Robin, or Sunday.
4. HSR 4.x is Right Around the Corner
Finally, the biggest reason I am skipping Cyrene is to save Stellar Jades for Honkai Star Rail 4.0’s release. Although we will still have a 3.8 version in between, HSR 4.0 isn’t that far away. And according to the HSR 4.x character leaks, the upcoming roster is going to be incredibly appealing for all HSR players. This is why I am planning to save the Stellar Jades instead of investing in a character with depreciating value for the future metas. If you also want to save Stellar Jades, then don’t forget to check our Honkai Star Rail codes.
So, these are four reasons why I am planning to skip Cyrene in Honkai Star Rail. Unless you want Cyrene just to have her, I would suggest you also pay attention to the above points before making your decision. Let us know what you think about Cyrene in the comments below.
