Xiaomi announced the global variant of MIUI 10 at an event last week and quickly began recruiting beta testers after revealing that the release of beta updates would begin starting the second half of June. Making good on its promise, Xiaomi has now begun the rollout of the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM to users who registered for the beta testing program across the world.

Xiaomi announced via a post on the official MIUI forum that the latest MIUI 10 Global Beta update (Build No. 8.6.14) is now available for compatible devices, though you should expect bugs in everyday usage and a laggy UI experience due to the beta update.

The first batch of devices to get the MIUI 10 Global Beta update include the Mi Mix 2, Mi Mix 2S, Redmi S2, and the Redmi Note 5 Pro/Redmi Note 5. Last year’s Mi 6 flagship was also among the devices set to receive the beta update in the first phase, but it seems Xiaomi has suspended the rollout for the Mi 6 for unknown reasons.

As for the changes introduced by the beta update, it adds a FIFA 2018 World Cup card to the App Vault, which allows users to keep a track of the football action during the tournament via live updates, news, and fixtures among other relevant information.

Moreover, the Mi browser has also received a few changes such as an optimized start page, PWA (Progressive Web App) support and an improved search functionality. Lastly, the app has also fixed the AM/PM time localization issue when the default system language is set to Greek. As for MIUI 10, the latest build of Xiaomi’s smartphone OS introduces a host of new features such as smart navigation gestures, an updated recent menu interface, Android P-like volume slider and notification shade, and support for picture-in-picture mode among others.
