Chinese giant Xiaomi has already taken over the Indian smartphone market, they’ve launched smart LED bulbs, and even Bluetooth headphones, all priced extremely well. Now, it looks like Xiaomi is trying to expand its product portfolio in India even further with another new product.
Mi India’s Twitter handle has today tweeted that the company will begin crowdfunding for the new Mi Rechargeable LED Lamp from July 18th, 12PM onwards.
The company is pointing out multiple selling points for the rechargeable lamp; the lamp will have 3 levels of brightness for use in all kinds of situations. Moreover, the lamp’s battery can last up to 5 days on a charge, which is definitely pretty great if you’re looking for an emergency light, which, by the way, is what Xiaomi is apparently positioning this as — “Perfect emergency light solution” says the company’s tweet.
There’s a video attached as well, giving us a good look at the lamp’s design and overall aesthetic, and I have to say, it looks pretty damn good. In typical Xiaomi style, the design here is minimal and clean, and it definitely looks like a lamp that will fit right in into most kinds of interiors.
The company is yet to say anything about the price, and a bunch of other questions remain unanswered — does it come with a dial for adjusting the brightness, or is there some other way to do that, how bright is the lamp at its brightest, can it be used while charging (one would hope so), and as a lot of people have been asking under the tweet — when is the Mi Band 4 coming to India?
Either way, if you’re interested in the Mi Rechargeable LED Lamp, crowdfunding begins from the day after tomorrow — July 18th, at 12PM on Mi.com.
