After the first season of Squid Game was aired, we all felt a sense of relief when the protagonist, Gi-Hun managed to survive the game. However, as it turns out, this was not the end of his time as a player. By the end of Season 1, we get to see that Gi-Hun canceled his trip to see his daughter and went back to rejoin the Squid Game which will extend into Season 2. However, the question here is, why did he do so? Let’s find out!
Gi-Hun Is Back in Squid Game to Take Revenge
It’s pretty obvious that even though Squid Game gave Gi-Hun a lot of money, the emotional trauma it caused him cannot be repaid with any amount of it. He saw people he bonded with die, even his childhood friend, Sang-woo. A lot of people died and Gi-Hun now wants to put an end to the game so no more innocent lives can be taken for the entertainment of filthy rich people.
By the end of season 1, we see that Gi-Hun is going to see his daughter but he saw the salesman give his card to a man. He rushed to the victim and snatched away the card to save his life but was unable to catch the salesman. At that very moment, Gi-Hun decided to get back into Squid Game to take revenge for all those who died and to convince new players to opt-out to save their lives.
We might get to see a much more fierce version of Gi-Hun in Squid Game Season 2 since being a part of the game in the first season has left a lasting imprint on him and has molded him into a survivor. So, this time around, the game could be much more intense and to stay up to date with everything we will see in Squid Game Season 2, stay tuned with us!
