Vodafone’s Rs 569 & Rs 511 Recharge Packs Offer 3GB and 2GB Daily Data

Vodafone India has announced two new prepaid tariff vouchers that the company hopes will help it compete against Reliance Jio‘s attractive pricing. The first of the two recharge vouchers costs Rs. 569 and offers 3GB of daily data, while the other one comes with a Rs. 511 price-tag and has a data allocation of 2GB per day.

Both plans are valid for 84 days, but are available only in some circles and not throughout the country. It’s important to note, however, that unlike Jio’s plans, voice calls with both these STVs (special tariff vouchers) are capped at 250 minutes per day (1,000 minutes per week), while SMSes are restricted to 100 per day.

While the two plans do make Vodafone relatively more competitive, Jio is still miles ahead when it comes to affordability. Not only does every single recharge voucher from the Mukesh Ambani-led company offer truly unlimited voice calling, the company’s 2GB-per-day STV with 84-day validity costs just Rs. 448. And that’s before the Rs. 50 cashback that reduces the price further to Rs. 398.

Jio, however, doesn’t offer a long-term 3GB-daily-data plan, which makes Vodafone’s Rs. 569 plan a decent option for voracious data consumers, seeing as the plan offers each GB of data for just Rs. 2.2, which is even more lucrative than some of Jio’s most popular plans.

Meanwhile, Vodafone is not the only carrier in the country to be trying to keep its flock together by offering more affordable plans to its users. Airtel recently introduced a new prepaid recharge pack that costs Rs. 219, and offers 1.4GB of 3G/4G data per day alongside unlimited voice calls, 100 SMSes and free national roaming for 28-days. It is identical to the company’s Rs. 199 STV but for the fact that it additionally offers unlimited caller tunes during the validity period.
