Stranger Than Heaven builds on the gameplay foundation laid by the best Yakuza games. As you land in Kokuka town in Fukuoka, Japan, you are free to explore the region, which is home to numerous activities, such as gambling, drinking, etc. Discover new regions and recreation centres at your own pace, as the era switches between 1915 and 1965. With times changing, you will find new forms of entertainment special to that era.

The brutal hand-to-hand combat system returns, and it looks more promising than ever before. As the gameplay trailer suggests, you will take full control of Makoto’s actions, dictating how he needs to attack with his hands and legs. So, mastering the combat is your key to survival in Stranger Than Heaven.

Lastly, similar to the karaoke in Yakuza games, you can make music in the game as the main character has a hidden music talent. You are given the chance to become a showman in mid-20th-century Japan. In a nutshell, you can expect all the gameplay elements from Yakuza and several new mechanics in the new title.
