Severance Season 2 is back again with its sixth episode and as good as the show is, the slow-burning nature of Severance is getting on my nerves for the suspense each episode leaves me with. This time around we have reached episode 6 of Severance Season 2 and even though the episode was not very mysterious or explosive, it certainly is leading us towards something massive. So, to make sure you are not rusty about what happened, here is a recap for Severance Season 2 episode 6!
Mark Tells Helly What Happened At the Retreat
Today’s episode opens with Mark telling Reghabi about seeing Gemma in her visions and how she does not seem to be herself. Listening to this, Reghabi reassures Mark that Gemma is still there and that they can get her out eventually. Following this conversation, the screen cuts to Lumon’s severed floor where Dylan G. tells Mark and Helly about the map to the mysterious elevator that only goes down hidden in the Break Room. They figure that Ms. Casey could be on that floor and when Dylan refuses to go get the map, Helly says she will do it herself.
Before Helly goes, Mark takes Helly to a bathroom stall and tells her what happened between him and Helena Eagan at the retreat. Listening to this, Helly is taken aback and leaves the stall. She goes off to walk in the hallways of the severed floor and sits down in a corner thinking about what Mark said. She then approaches Mark and says that Helena used her body and she wants a memory of her own of that night to which Mark agrees and they both sleep with each other in one of the empty offices.
However, while returning to the MDR, Mark starts having a nosebleed and is taken to Miss Huang to be looked at but as it turns out, this was a memory being played in Outie Mark’s head, and having visions of such a recent memory was said to be good by Reghabi. However, she insists that they should speed up his recalibration, and listening to this, Mark shouts at her saying he is hungry, and leaves upstairs.
Milchick Is Quite Distressed About His Performance Review
In the episode, we also see that Milchick is not at all happy about what happened to him at his performance review. He calls Miss Huang and tells her to keep an eye on the Severed floor since he will be busy. She complies and goes back to her desk while he goes to the store room and gathers two huge piles of paper and paperclips and starts putting two sheets of paper together using the clips for no reason.
By the time he is done, his hands are shaking and he is constantly looking at his review that says that Mr Milchick uses too many big words. He then looks into the mirror and repeats the complex sentence he said to Miss Hunag while actively making it simpler and angrier. It looked as if Mr. Milchick was trying to fix all the problems that were pointed out by his superiors in Severance Season 2 Episode 6.
Irving Goes For Dinner At Burt’s House
In the previous episode, Burt invited Irving to have dinner at his house, and in this one, Irving does indeed show up at Burt and his husband, Fields’ place for dinner. Things are initially awkward between Fields and Irving but eventually, it looks as if they are getting along together in one way or another. However, as Fields starts drinking more and more, he abruptly asks Irving if his innie is physically involved with Burt. Fields also states that even if they were, he is okay with the fact that it happened.
Eventually, Burt puts Fields to bed and sees off Irving inviting him to have dinner again. Meanwhile, Drummond breaks into Irving’s apartment and finds the investigation he has been doing on Lumon. It is about the same time when we are shown that Dylan’s Outie’s wife meets with his Innie and after a sweet conversation kisses him. However, when Dylan’s outie asks her about the meeting, she lies that it was canceled.
Mark Meets Helena and Decides to Speed Up His Reintegration
Reghabi tells Mark that they could speed up his reintegration, Mark leaves and goes to a Chinese restaurant where he eats a lot of food. However, he is not alone there as Helena Eagan shows up in the same restaurant. She approaches him and starts making small talk while also lightly flirting with Mark. She then brings up the Overtime Contingency Protocol and also expresses her grief for what happened to his wife.
Listening to this, Mark corrects Helena that his wife’s name is Gemma and leaves the restaurant. He goes back home and tells Reghabi to speed up his recalibration. She performs minor surgery in the already existing hole in Mark’s skull from when he was first severed. As soon as Reghabi is done Mark starts seeing extreme side effects but there is a knock at the door and it’s Devon, his sister. Mark acknowledges that he has to open the door since his car is in the driveway. He welcomes his sister in but after a short argument, Mark collapses to the side effects of the surgery and the episode comes to an end.
