- Samsung is introducing a subscription plan for their Galaxy devices starting next month.
- This will allow customers to rent or subscribe to phones and tablets with Galaxy AI integration.
- The 'AI subscription club' will be announced somewhere around February, just when the S25 series will start shipping.
With the release of the Galaxy S25 series crawling ever so close, Samsung is leaving no stone unturned to create hype. So to make sure that sales of the upcoming flagship smartphones top the charts, Samsung is introducing a new AI subscription plan for their Galaxy phones and tablets.
According to ETNews, Samsung’s Vice President, Han Jong-hee discussed during a press conference at CES 2025. Jong-hee talked about the introduction of an “AI subscription club” starting next month. This is when the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will go on sale in global markets after the Samsung Unpacked event.
This new plan isn’t about a paid subscription to Samsung’s Galaxy AI features. Instead, it allows customers to rent or subscribe to Galaxy devices so they can try out their phones and return them if they don’t want to continue further. This subscription will also include maintenance for the devices as well. The AI part refers to phones and tablets that feature the new Galaxy AI integration.
Samsung recently started a subscription model for home appliances in South Korea. It received a positive response in the country, and that could be why the tech giant is branching out this option to their smartphones as well. This could give consumers a taste of their flagship phones without having to buy one.
Renting and subscription is a cheaper alternative than paying the high asking price upfront. And in the era where phone prices are reaching above $1500 at times, a subscription doesn’t sound like that bad of an idea. The Galaxy AI plan will be released along with the release of the Ballie companion robot by Samsung, which will also be available with a subscription in Korea.
