When we talk about mid-range budget smartphones, the SoC among all the devices is the same – Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625. The main reason for its huge success is the perfect combination of power and efficiency, which helped this processor provide good performance with an incredibly low energy consumption. While Qualcomm earlier had launched the Snapdragon 626, which is basically an overclocked version of the SD625, the company has also released the true successor to the SD625, the Snapdragon 630. And although there are a couple of devices in the market that already house the chip underneath, we think it might be the right time to discuss some of the new changes that the chip brings. Below is a table depicting all the specs of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 625:

Snapdragon 630: What’s Better?
As evident from the above specs, the Snapdragon 630 comes with a higher clock frequency of 2.2 GHz vs 2 GHz of the Snapdragon 625. This should bring about more than 30 percent higher performance than the SD625. Also, the Adreno 508 should offer better graphics performance as well.
One of the most notable additions of the Snapdragon 630 is the inclusion of Quick Charge 4.0 for fast charging, which is supposedly 15 percent faster than the previous generation. Also, the Snapdragon X12 modem has 2x higher download speed and more advanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
All in all, the Snapdragon 630 provides slight but notable improvements over the widely popular Snapdragon 625. Devices such as the Moto X4 and the Asus Zenfone 4 are already sporting the new Snapdragon 630 SoC. But which devices do you wish to see the more powerful and secure SD630 on?
