Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves will be released in 2027. Similar to Scarlet and Violet, these two games will be released simultaneously as different cover and name editions, although the gameplay content will remain similar between the two. This info was revealed as part of Pokemon’s 30th Anniversary Celebration.

While an exact date hasn’t been announced yet, you can expect it to be released in mid 2027, similar to the release of Pokemon Legends ZA. We will update this section once the release date has been announced.

  • Open world exploration in the new region with beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves.
  • Over 70+ Pokemon have been confirmed, with three from Gen 10, and others returning from the previous generations.
  • Professor Oak returns, but is bald and uses a cane for walking.
  • Three new Gen 10 Starter Pokemon: Browt (Grass-type), Pombon (Fire-type), and Gecqua (Water-type). 
  • Team up with the Pokemon you encounter and catch. This involves diving, swimming, illuminating caverns, and using other abilities.
  • Rotom device allows players to interact with owned Pokemon and use their abilities to explore.
  • Different main character outfits depending on the version of the game you play.
  • A pair of special Pikachu (Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu) with a brand-new look. The Pikachu you get will probably depend on the version of the game.
  • New evolutions for Orthworm, Liepard, Meenshao, Goldeen, and Claydol.
  • A new item called Omni-boost that revives Pokemon when held. Some Gen 10 Pokemon have special rebirth forms.
  • Pokemon HOME connectivity allows transferring Pokemon from other games to Wind and Waves.
