Pokemon GO is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary as well as 30 years of Pokemon in a year-round celebration with a series of new events. As the 30th anniversary event in-game wrapped up on March 9, a new event is finally here, and it celebrates the new Pokemon game Pokopia that released on Nintendo Switch 2 and brings plenty of adorable creatures. Here’s everything you need to know about the Pokemon GO Pokopia Celebration event.

Pokemon GO Pokopia Celebration Event Start Date and Time

The Pokemon GO Pokopia event kicked off on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and is available for six days. We have listed the start and the end times below.

  • Start Date and Time: Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 10 AM local time
  • End Date and Time: Monday, March 16, 2026, at 8 PM local time

The event was announced by Niantic and Game Freak to celebrate the release of the latest Nintendo Switch Pokemon title called Pokemon Pokopia, which is already being lauded as one of the best Pokemon games ever made.

GO Pokopia Celebration Event Bonuses

During the Pokemon GO Pokopia Celebration event, you’ll be granted these bonuses if you log in and participate:

  • 2x XP for spinning PokeStops
  • 10x XP for spinning a PokeStop for the first time
  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Sudowoodo and Shiny Zorua

Costumed Ditto Appears!

The latest Pokemon GO event brings new costumed Pokemon that will appear for the first time. They are Ditto wearing a hat, and Ditto wearing a cap. You’ll have a chance to encounter both Pokemon in shiny variants as well. So keep a lookout, trainers.

Furthermore, Lapras, Snorlax, and Dragonite from the “Win 3 raids” task will have an event-themed Special Background.

Timed Research Tasks and Rewards

Pokemon GO Pokopia Celebration event also brings exclusive timed research tasks that will be available throughout the event. Complete them to earn Stardust, encounters with event-themed Pokemon, stickers, and more!

Do note that the timed research comes with an expiration date, so tasks associated with this must be completed and rewards must be claimed before the event ends on March 18.

Upon completing the Timed Research, you’ll be granted 10,000 XP and a Ditto and Peakychu Pokopia Sticker.

The Pokopia Celebration event in Pokemon GO has also brought some new Collection Challenges for you to complete. Finish them to receive encounters with costumed Ditto (wearing a cap or a hat with a Special Background).

Event Exclusive Stickers and Items

A new avatar item called Ditto Eye Mask will be available for free in the in-game shop during this event and will continue to be available after the event ends.

Furthermore, you’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokeStops and Gyms, opening Gifts, and completing tasks in Timed Research.
