1. Fidough Fetch (January 3-7)
The year starts with the debut of Fidough, the adorable Fairy-type Puppy Pokemon. You’ll have increased chances of encountering shiny Voltorb and Electrike during this event. The event features global challenges that unlock various bonuses, including increased XP and Stardust for catching Pokemon. Watch for other puppy Pokemon like Growlithe, Snubbull, and Lillipup, which appear more frequently in the wild.
2. Sprigatito Community Day (January 5)
The first Community Day of 2025 features Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. During the three-hour event, you’ll enjoy 3x Stardust, 2x candies for catches, and increased Sprigatito spawns with higher shiny chances. Any Floragato evolved into Meowscarada will learn the exclusive move Frenzy Plant.
3. Fashion Week & Team GO Rocket Takeover (January 10-19)
This year, the Pokemon GO Fashion Week returns with a twist. The event starts normally but is interrupted midway by Team GO Rocket, leading to a special “Fashion Week: Taken Over” segment.
There will also be a special costume, Minccino, joining the game for the first time. The celebration culminates in a Pokemon GO Shadow Raid Day on January 19. So be ready with your classiest monsters!
4. Mega Gallade Raid Day (January 11)
Mark your calendars for January 11, when Mega Gallade makes its Pokemon GO debut! This is a Psychic and Fighting Pokemon that is sure to be a challenge. During the three-hour event, you’ll get increased shiny chances and can hold up to 20 Remote Raid Passes. Don’t forget to grab your five free raid passes from gym Photo Discs during the event.
5. Steeled Resolve (January 21-26)
A new event focusing on Steel-type Pokemon runs from January 21-26. While full details are yet to be announced, expect to see plenty of metallic Pokemon and possibly some special research tasks.
6. Community Day Classic & Lunar New Year (January 25 & 29)
