We are two days into the new year and the next supposed big entries into the rather cluttered mid-range smartphone segment in India have finally been announced. Xiaomi noted (pun intended) its launch of the Redmi Note 13 series this month, and it looks like we will also be getting the much-awaited POCO X6 series on January 11.
POCO’s promotional banner on the Flipkart mobile app revealed the POCO X6 and X6 Pro’s official launch date to be January 11, 2024. The landing page seems to have been accidentally published a few hours earlier, confirming the date. It has now been changed and displays only the trailer. POCO has yet to confirm the launch date. So yeah, not a great way to start your year, Flipkart.
For those unaware, the POCO X6 and X6 Pro are the successors to POCO X5 and X5 Pro from 2023. Leaks suggest the POCO X6 is a Redmi Note 13 Pro in disguise and will be powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, which is quite similar in performance compared to Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
The phone will feature UFS 3.1 storage and a 64 MP primary sensor, paired with a 13 MP Ultrawide and 2 MP macro camera.
The POCO X6 Pro, on the other hand, is rebranded Redmi K70E. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC, besides other similarities in specifications. The X6 Pro is rumored to boast a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 64MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP Ultrawide, and a 2MP macro shooter. Besides, the smartphone will also boast a 5,000 mAh battery capable of charging at 67W.
The exclusive leaks were first showcased by 91Mobiles where details about the rebranding and color options were revealed in full glory. As per the article, both the POCO X6 and X6 Pro will come in 3 color options; the X6 will come in Black, Blue, and White, whereas the X6 Pro will come in Black, Gray, and Yellow options.
As for the pricing, the POCO X6 is expected to cost around Rs 21,999 in India whereas the X6 Pro is expected to start at Rs 26,999. Let us know your price guesses in the comments section below.
