The OnePlus 6 is all set to be launched in India on May 17th, a day after it is unveiled globally at an event in London. Now, just over a week before it is launched in the country, the company has announced that over a million people have expressed interest in the smartphone by using the ‘Notify Me’ option on the Amazon India website. The company claims that this is the fastest that any OnePlus device has ever reached that landmark.
This is the fastest ever that ‘Notify Me’ registrations have hit the 1 million mark for a OnePlus device. This is indicative of the high level of excitement that has followed the OnePlus 6 launch since the announcement of the new flagship making it OnePlus’ most awaited smartphone yet.
The OnePlus 6 will be sold in the country exclusively on Amazon at prices starting from Rs. 36,999 for the base 6GB/64GB model. The company is also expected to offer an 8GB/128GB version that is expected to be priced at Rs. 39,999. While there’s also talk about a 256GB version, there’s no real info about the possible pricing of that version just yet. Amazon Prime members will have the first opportunity to get their hands on the device as part of an Early Access offer that will go live at Noon on May 21st.
The company had announced recently that it will start selling tickets (worth Rs. 999) for the launch event from 10am today (May 8). People buying the ticket will get a OnePlus voucher worth Rs. 999 that can be redeemed towards buying any official OnePlus product, including the OnePlus 6 itself. Attendees will also get a gift hamper full of goodies including exclusive Marvel merchandise like Marvel Avengers Cap, Marvel Avengers t-shirt, OnePlus Notebook, OnePlus Tote Bag, and Cash Cannon.
