Capcom Is Making a New Resident Evil Game

Almost every horror fan out there has heard or played Resident Evil. The popular horror game franchise that spawns decades last made an appearance with the Resident Evil 4 remake. However, ever since then we have all been left wondering what’s next for the franchise.

Fortunately, fans of Capcom’s survival horror series can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as the developer confirmed that a new Resident Evil game is officially in development. During the latest Capcom Next Showcase, the publisher dropped the reveal following a deep dive into their upcoming games Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

Game director Koshi Nakanishi took it upon himself to confirm the next Resident Evil game in development. For those unaware, Nakanashi has been a designer and creative director for Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D. He also directed Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil 7, which would catapult the company into a resurgence in the current year.

“We’re making a new Resident Evil. It was really difficult to figure out what to do after 7. But I found it, and to be honest it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet but I hope you’re excited for the day I can.” – Koshi Nakanishi

Nakanishi admitted it was challenging to develop a new idea after Resident Evil 7. However, he eventually came up with something substantial, resulting in the development of Capcom’s next Resident Evil game. While Nakanishi didn’t share details on the next Resident Evil game, he expects players to be excited when they do.
