Officially titled Tiny Takeover, this new Minecraft update brings remodelled versions of all the baby mobs in the game. Minecraft Tiny Takeover Release Date

The Minecraft 26.1 Tiny Takeover, referred to as the baby mobs update by the community, will be released on March 24, 2026. So yeah, you won’t have to wait much longer since the update is right around the corner, and you’ll be able to interact with the cute new baby mobs.

Over the past year, Mojang has adopted the system of releasing smaller game drops throughout the year. However, the Minecraft version numbering system was a little complex for most of us, and we often got confused. This is why Mojang decided to change the version naming starting this year. The update name now has the last two digits of a year, followed by a period, and then the drop number.

Thus, the brand new Minecraft baby mobs update has the version name as 26.1. Since it is the year 2026, and the first game drop of the year.

The Minecraft baby mobs update is centered around remodeling baby mobs and a few quality-of-life upgrades. Here are the major features coming in Minecraft 26.1:

• Redesigned baby mobs across the Overworld, Nether, and oceans biomes with unique models, animations, and sounds.
• Golden Dandelion, a new flower that keeps the baby mobs from growing up into their adult versions. It’s craftable.
• A new craftable recipe for the name tags in Minecraft, so you no longer need to travel around the world to locate one.
• A copper block can be placed under a note block to emit a trumpet sound.
• There are new spawn egg variants for the baby mobs in creative mode.
• The textures and animations are improved for several mobs, like rabbits and chickens.
• Lighting and performance improvements all around the world.

Among the above features, the Golden Dandelion stands out as a brand-new feature. Feeding that to a baby mob will pause its aging process completely. But you can always feed that same mob a second golden dandelion to restart its aging process.
