How to Tame and Assign Animals in LEGO Fortnite

Farming is a part that has always felt a little limited in LEGO Fortnite. However, with the Farm Friends update, that seems to be changing. You can finally have cows, sheep, chickens, and pigs in your village. When you are on your farm, these animals will give you various resources such as feathers, milk, wool, mushrooms, and fertilizer. But before they are your friends, you must learn how to tame them. Let’s begin by showing you how to tame and assign animals in LEGO Fortnite.

1. Build the Barn

Before starting your animal farm, you will need the Barn in your village. After your village reaches level 2, you will see the Barn recipe unlocked. So, once the recipe unlocks, here is how you can build the Barn:

• First, click the Build button (Q on PC, Circle/ B button on consoles) and select Barn from the Utility tab.
• Now place it at your desired place by consuming 10 Plank from your inventory.

2. Make Animal Treat

Once you build the Barn, you will unlock the animal feed. This feed or Animal Treats will let you tame the friendly animals. You will need 5 vines and 3 corn to make one Animal Treat. Here is how you can make the Animal Treat:

• Go to a Grill and click the Interact button (E on PC, Square/ X on consoles, and Y on Nintendo Switch) to use it.
• Select Animal Treat and the recipe by pressing the interact button again.
• After that, use the arrow or D-pad to deposit resources manually or click the Quick Deposit button (F key on PC, X on Xbox, Square on PS, and Y on Switch).
• Once the processing is done, click the Take option (W on PC, Y on Xbox, and Triangle on PS4/5).

3. Tame the Animals

Once you decide which animal to tame, walk towards them. After the animal you want to pet accepts your treat, you can take them to your village. However, you will have a limited time to take them to your village. To feed an Animal Treat to an animal, go to the animal and click the Interact button (E on PC, Square/ X on consoles, and Y on Nintendo Switch) to tame them in LEGO Fortnite.

You can also feed the animal another treat to increase the timer or heal them if they take some damage on the way to your village. Now, for a temporary duration, they will follow you. Use vehicles, fishing rods, or different ways to lure the animals faster to your village. Keep the journey peaceful, as unpleasant encounters can upset them.

4. Assign Animals to the Barn

Animals need to be happy to stay in your village. That is why you need to assign them to a Barn. However, do note that you can only assign one Barn to one animal. Here is how to assign or recruit animals to the Barn in LEGO Fortnite:

• Once you have fed an animal the Animal Treat, go to a barn and click the Interact button (E on PC, Square/ X on consoles, and Y on Nintendo Switch).
• Select the animal you want to assign to the barn and click the Assign button (F key on PC, X on Xbox, Square on PS, and Y on Switch).
• You can now rename your animal manually and press the same button again to complete the process.
