Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 8, titled ‘The Three Heavenly Cursed Gods,’ has arrived and it features something that fans were eager to get familiar with. Maru and Cross, despite being two of the crucial characters of the spin-off, also held the title of the most ‘mysterious’ characters. Well, finally, after anticipating since their introductions, JJK Modulo finally tells us who Cross and Maru really are.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 8 Features a Glimpse of Cross and Maru’s Childhood
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 8 begins with a flashback where we meet younger versions of Maru and Cross. They were living on a deserted settlement that belonged to the Simurian race. The chapter also reveals that the planet is home to two alien races: Lumer and Deskunte. The survival here is tough due to the lack of resources.
A new character named Daura enters the picture; he becomes the mentor to the Simurian twin brother and convinces them to join forces with the Lumers to build a canal. He also tells them that the canal is necessary for coexistence. Daura then explains that the canal was supposed to be built a long time ago. However, the place where it was supposed to be created is the habitat of a sacred animal called Karyan, which kills anyone who doesn’t belong to the Lumer race. So, the responsibility of making the irrigation canal indirectly came to the Lumers.
The Simurian brothers saw their people fight with each other, and that’s when the two kids who shared similar ideologies started changing. Maru became compassionate and empathetic, while Cross realized that power is everything and being sensitive towards others is an illusion. So, their childhood basically shaped their narrative in the current storyline.
Unlike the previous chapters, this one doesn’t feature any flashy fight sequences or a new curse user; instead, it comes with a strong message, making every fan see the human side of the aliens of the JJK sequel.
