Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 has finally hit our screens, and while it was just as mind-blowing as the first set of episodes, certain elements might feel off to the viewer. Right now, the most off-putting aspect of the show is Kali. In the first set of episodes, it was revealed that Kali has been held captive at the military base in the Upside Down. Eleven and Jim free her, but while it looked like she was going to be an asset to Eleven and her friends, it seems as if there is a good chance of Kali turning out to be bad in Stranger Things Season 5 for our gang’s plans to defeat Vecna.
Is Kali Bad in Stranger Things?
In Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2, we see that even though Kali has been rescued and is being constantly reassured that everything will eventually work out, it is obvious that she does not believe it will. According to Kali, even if Eleven and her manage to take down Vecna, the Military and Doctor Kay will not stop coming after her and Eleven. Moreover, she saw that in the Upside Down, the military was trying to revive the experiment that gave Eleven and Kali their powers.
However, to successfully make it work, they need Eleven’s blood. Now, being an eyewitness to this reality, Kali has started to believe that there is no way anything ends well for her and Eleven, even if they kill Vecna. She tells Eleven that when they plan to kill Vecna and destroy the abyss, they should not come back and sacrifice themselves to stop the military from creating more Henrys from their blood.
There is a high chance that she could betray Eleven and the gang during their plans to get rid of Vecna and Abyss.
In another scenario, whenever she confronts Vecna, he could manage to use this vulnerability and manipulate her into thinking whatever he is doing would be better for Kali and Eleven, but if they save the world, it would just hunt the two of them down.
However, at this point, Kali can be best defined as an anti-hero, and if she turns into a villain, it would be interesting to see how Eleven deals with it.
