How to Search Chests Inside Renegade Vaults in Fortnite

Epic Games has just added a new weekly quest to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and it has players looking for Renegade Vaults in Fortnite. These unique vaults were introduced in Chapter 7 Season 3, and have become an important part of the gameplay loop. If you, too, want to find and search these Renegade Vaults, here’s everything you need to know about them.

What are Renegade Vaults in Fortnite?

Renegade Vaults in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 are the standard vaults that have a chance to spawn only one Sprite Chest and one Rare Chest. The Renegade Vaults are different than the Sprite Vaults, with the Renegade Vaults requiring Rare Vault Keys while the Sprite Vaults require the Epic Vault Keycard.

At the time of writing, there are a total of 6 Renegade Vaults on the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 map. These are generally located at or just outside the named POIs on the map. It is important to remember that landing at these Renegade Vaults at the start of the game is useless, since you need a Rare Vault Key to access them.

How to Complete Fortnite Week 6 Quest: Search Chests Inside a Renegade Vault

You can complete the search chests inside the Renegade Vault weekly quest in Fortnite by finding Rare Vault Keys and searching any type of chest inside the vaults. Here are the steps you can follow to make the whole process easier:

• Land anywhere on the map, preferably close to one of the Renegade Vault locations.
• Search chests around you to find a Rare Vault Key. You might have to search a few chests before you come across one.
• Once you have a Rare Vault Key, head to the Renegade Vault that is closest to you.
• Use the Rare Vault Key to unlock the Renegade Vault.
• Head inside and search whatever chests are inside.
• Repeat the process until you search five chests.

Once you search five chests inside Renegade Vaults, you will complete the week 6 quest. Since Renegade Vaults only hold a maximum of two chests inside them, you will have to unlock multiple vaults to complete the quest. Additionally, remember that all chests count towards this quest, including regular chests, Rare Chests, and Sprite Chests. If you do open a Sprite Chest inside these vaults, there is always a chance you will find one of the new Fortnite Holofoil Sprites.

Completing this quest will grant you 12,000 XP for the season, allowing you to progress through the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Pass.
