Act 1 of the Fortnite Showdown Rivalries is nearing its end, and Team Ice King has emerged victorious in the first stage of the Chapter 7 Season 2 event. This last unlock of the Rivalries milestones has added the Ice King Vault Fortnite keycard to the loot pool, allowing players to finally claim the Ice King’s powerful, hidden stash. Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking the Ice King vault in Fortnite so you can get ahead of the competition.
Fortnite Ice King Vault Keycard Location
Unlike previous seasons, you don’t have to defeat a Fortnite boss to get your hands on the newly unlocked Ice King Vault Fortnite keycard. Instead, you have to head to a structure located southwest of Frigid Fortress on the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 map.
You can find the structure to the west of the destroyed bridge at the POI, and if you jump in through the upper-level window, you can find the Ice King Fortnite Vault keycard in the corner.
How to Unlock Ice King Vault in Fortnite
You can follow these steps to unlock the Ice King vault and claim the rare loot inside:
- Once you have secured the Ice King Vault keycard, you can then head to the southern part of Frigid Fortress.
- Inside the building, you will notice a floor pattern that is different from the others and is shaped like a door.
- Walk up to the door and press the Interact button (Square/X on Controller and E on PC) when prompted to unlock the vault.
- Use the Zipline to safely descend into the vault, and enjoy your hard-earned loot like Epic chests, Slurp Barrels, and Ammo Crates.
While the process of unlocking the Ice King Vault is straightforward, make sure to pay attention to your surroundings so that you aren’t caught off guard by a camping enemy. It is recommended that you keep items like the Skyline Deployer or Seven Power Gloves handy in case you need to escape a hidden enemy ambushing you. You can then head back to the vault to unlock it once the coast is clear.
With the unlock of the Ice King Vault keycard, Team Ice King has emerged victorious in Act 1 of the Fortnite Showdown Rivalries event. However, Team Foundation is not far behind on their final milestone, which will unlock the New Sanctuary vault and all the useful items it has to offer.
