Epic Games introduced new Sprites in Chapter 7 Season 4, and one of them is shaped like an onigiri and is called the Onigiri Sprite. It has been inspired by Japanese food, and it is perhaps one of the most adorable Sprites in-game. That said, here’s how to get the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite.
Where to Find Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite: All Locations and Methods
There are multiple ways to find the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite. As of Fortnite update 42.10, you have the option of searching Chests, entering Cheat Codes, and defeating opponents to get the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite. That said, here are all the methods you can use to get the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite quickly.
Using Cheat Codes and Searching Chests
Two of the most reliable ways to get the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite are searching Chests and entering Cheat Codes, especially during Fortnite Sprite Events. Both can be found in abundance in and around POIs. If you use enough Cheat Codes and search enough Chests, you’re bound to come across the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite.

Keep in mind that Cheat Codes are not the same as Fortnite Lobby Hack (Admin Panel) Codes. Lobby Hack Codes can only be used in the main lobby to get Cheat Master Sprites in Fortnite alongside Sprite Dust and XP.
Eliminating opponents and bosses
One of the cool things about Fortnite is that there are multiple ways to get Sprites. If you don’t feel like entering Cheat Codes or searching Chests, you can eliminate opponents to get the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite. Bosses are also a viable option. Hush, located at Reality’s Reign POI, often drops Gold Fortnite Sprites when defeated. She could drop the Gold Onigiri Sprite, too.
Trading with friends
If the aforementioned methods don’t pan out, trading Sprites in Fortnite is also a viable option. If you happen to have rare Sprites, you could trade them for the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite. You need Sprite Dust to summon the Sprites you gave away, but it does make things easier.
We recommend searching POIs such as Sunken Shores, Heatwave Harbor, Green Hill Zone, Lifty Lodge, and The Battlewoods to improve your odds of finding it. We have also attached a handy map to give you a visual reference of where to search.

Now that you know how to get the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite, consider starting your search in POIs that are associated with Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Quests. This way, you can get some XP for completing tasks while searching for the Sprite.
Fortnite Onigiri Sprite Powers Explained
The Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite grants the Overdrive effect after eating or drinking a consumable. It’s similar to the Storm Scout Sprite in Fortnite, except for the fact that you don’t need to be in the Storm (and take damage) to get the Overdrive effect.
Here is how the Onigiri Sprite’s power increases as it levels up in Fortnite:
| Onigiri Sprite Level | Power Increase Per Level |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | TBA |
| Level 2 | TBA |
| Level 3 | TBA |
| Level 4 | TBA |
| Level 5 | TBA |
Despite being very useful for mobility, we would still recommend using something more common, like the Sonic Sprite. Having to consume an item to gain the Overdrive effect isn’t very convenient. That said, we don’t see the Onigiri Sprite being as popular as even the Klombo Sprite in Fortnite.
All Onigiri Sprite Variants in Fortnite
There are a total of four Onigiri Sprite variants that you can find in Fortnite as of update v42.10. This also includes the base variant. Here’s a full list of all Onigiri Sprites currently in Fortnite:
- Onigiri Sprite: Grants the Overdrive effect when you use consumables.
- Cheat Master Onigiri Sprite: Base power + all inputs are correct when entering Cheat Codes found in the world.
- Gold Onigiri Sprite: Base power + gain 3x bonus XP from eliminations.
- Loot Hacker Onigiri Sprite: TBA

The Loot Hacker variant of the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite should go live next week. According to the Fortnite 2026 roadmap, we could see more Sprites added on September 17, 2026.
How Rare Is the Onigiri Sprite in Fortnite?
Onigiri is far from being the rarest Sprite in Fortnite. In fact, it’s more common than you think. You shouldn’t have an issue finding one at all. That said, we speculate the drop rate is around 2%, if not higher.
Keep in mind that you have a lot of time to find and collect the Onigiri Sprite to add to your Fortnite Sprite Garden. There’s no rush to obtain it right now. Take your time and enjoy the content that’s on offer without worrying too much about only collecting Sprites.
