How to Send Stickers in iMessage on iPhone?

Send Stickers in iMessage

You can easily send stickers in the Messages app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Also, you can place stickers in message bubbles, resize them, hide or delete stickers, or even create custom stickers on your iPhone.

Follow the below steps to send stickers in an iMessage:

  • Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
  • Here, open an existing conversation or start a new one.
  • Now, tap on + (plus icon) from the bottom-left of the screen, and choose Stickers.

  • This will bring up a few options. First is the Live Stickers that you or your friend have made. Then, you have Emoji, Memoji, and Stickers made by other creators.
  • Choose one of the options and it will bring up the available sticker packs.
  • If you want, you can add a message in the text field.
  • Once done, hit the Send button (blue upward arrow).

Use Stickers from the Keyboard

In addition to the above method, you can send stickers from the Emoji keyboard as well. Here’s how to do it:

  • Create a new conversation or open an existing thread in the Messages app.
  • Tap on the text field to bring up the iOS keyboard.
  • Next, tap on the emoji icon to access the Emoji keyboard.
  • From the bottom, tap on the stickers icon to see your stickers.

  • Finally, pick a sticker of your choice and tap on the Send button.

If you can’t find the stickers option in the emoji keyboard, go to Settings -> General -> Keyboard, scroll down to the bottom and turn on the Stickers toggle.

React to Messages Using Stickers

Besides sending a sticker in iMessage, you can also react to an iMessage using stickers. Doing this is super easy and quick. All you have to do is drag a sticker from the Stickers list and place it over a message bubble. Here are the steps to do it:

  • Start a new message or create a new conversation in the Messages app.
  • Now, tap on + (plus icon) and choose Stickers.
  • Here, touch and hold a sticker and drag it onto the message bubble.
  • While you’re doing this, you can also adjust the angle of the sticker or change its size.
  • Alternatively, you can long-press the message you wish to react to, choose Add Sticker and select a sticker of your choice.

Move or Resize Stickers Beforing Sending

If you wish, you can also move or resize a sticker before sending it. Bear in mind that this might not work for all stickers saved on your iPhone.

  • In a conversation, tap on the + icon and choose Stickers.
  • Here, touch and hold a sticker and move it gently.
  • Without lifting your finger, pinch out to increase the size of the sticker. You can also adjust the angle according to your preference.
  • Now, move the sticker to the text field. Don’t lift your finger until you see the small green plus button.

  • Once the sticker is inside the message box, hit the blue arrow button to send the sticker in iMessage.

Add or Download New Stickers on iPhone

Several apps and games offer built-in stickers. Also, you can download standalone sticker apps from the App Store. If you’ve downloaded apps like Reddit, the stickers from these apps will automatically appear in the Messages app. In case you can’t find them, here’s what you need to do:

  • Go to the Stickers section in the Messages app.
  • Here, tap on Edit from the top row.
  • Again, tap on Edit from the top-left of the Manage Sticker Apps screen.
  • Under Apps That Include Sticker Apps, turn on the apps you wish to see the sticker packs from.
  • Finally, hit the Done button from the top right.

If you wish to download dedicated sticker apps, tap on Get Sticker Apps on the App Store. Now, browse through and select the app you wish to download.

Create Custom Stickers on iPhone

In addition to the app-based stickers, you can also create custom stickers using photos on your iPhone. Even better, you can add some cool effects to bring stickers to life. Once added, your custom stickers will show up in Messages and other third-party apps. Let me tell you how to do it:

  •  Open a conversation in the Message app and tap on the “+” button at the bottom left corner.
  • Tap on the “Stickers” option in the pop-up menu.

You can easily hide or remove custom stickers on your iPhone. To do this, access the Stickers list on your iPhone. Now, touch and hold the sticker you want to remove and tap on the Delete button.
