How to Get Nagakiba Katana in Elden Ring

In Short
  • The Nagakiba Katana in Elden Ring is an excellent early-game weapon due to its bleed damage.
  • To get this handy Katana, you must progress through the Bloody Finger Hunter Yura's questline.
  • However, if you don't want to finish it, you can reach the Mountaintop of the Giants and retrieve it from his body.

Elden Ring has its fair share of the best early-game weapons you should use. One of those is the Elden Ring Nagakiba Katana, a weapon that lets you live your Samurai dreams. However, getting this Elden Ring weapon is easier said than done as you’ll need to jump through a few hoops. If you’re someone who wants to get the Nagakiba Katana, keep reading as we show you how to right here!

Ways to Get Nagakiba in Elden Ring

Nagakiba is an early-game weapon in Elden Ring, given by the Bloody Finger Hunter Yura. This long Katana comes with pierce damage and helps with bleed build-up. You must follow the Yura questline to get the Nagakiba katana in Elden Ring. Keep reading to learn how to do so:

  • Spawn at Agheel Lake South Site of Grace and turn towards the west. You’ll see a large structure far away, which looks like an arch. Head there and you’ll see Yura standing under the camp.
  • Talk with Yura and exhaust his dialogues. He’ll instruct you to go and defeat an invading NPC called Nerijus near the Murkwater Cave. Head to the location mentioned on the map and defeat the invading Nerijus.
  • Once defeated, head straight to the end of the pathway and talk with a relocated Yura to progress the questline to receive Nagakiba in the Elden Ring.
  • With the first half of the questline complete, there are two things you can do from here.

Continued with Yura’s Questline

Once you have defeated Nerijus, you can keep continuing Yura’s quest line and get the Elden Ring Nagakiba. You also receive Eleonora’s Poleblade and the Purifying Crystal Tear. Follow the steps below to do so:

  • Head over to Raya Lucaria academy. Enter the structure through the South Gate if you are visiting for the first time. Otherwise, spawn at the Main Academy Gate Site of Grace.
  • Once in the middle, look northeast and keep heading towards the edge of the bridge. You’ll see a red summon sign in the middle of this bridge. Refer to the map below. Interact with it to invade and defeat Bloody Finger Ravenmouth Assassin. Talk with Yura and progress through the storyline.
  • Head to the second church of Marika at Altus Plateau to find Yura wounded on the ground. He’ll eventually die, and you’ll get invaded by Eleonora.
  • Once you defeat Eleonora, revisit the second church of Marika in Elden Ring to find Nagakiba out here, lying on the ground.

Did Not Continue Yura’s Questline

If you don’t want to continue with Yura’s questline and still want the Nagakiba in Elden Ring, keep progressing through the game. Once you reach the mountaintop of the giants, you’ll see that Shabriri has taken over Yura’s body.

Once that has happened, go to Yura’s camp west of the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace. There, you’ll find the Nagakiba Katana lying on the ground. I chose this outcome because I didn’t want to continue the quest.

How to Use Nagakiba in Elden Ring

To use the Elden Ring Nagakiba Katana, you’ll require 18 Strength and 22 Dexterity. This makes it one of the good early and mid-game dexterity weapons that deals bleed build-up and damage upon hit.
