How to Fix Marvel Rivals Crashing on PC Error

Marvel Rivals has quickly garnered a massive player count, and the reviews so far have been very promising. However, not everyone is having a great time, as many PC players have complained about Marvel Rivals crashing on their PCs. Many different things can cause crashes, and even players with high-end PC systems have reported facing this problem. Here, we have given four solutions to this issue that have worked for other users in the community.

1. Check if Your PC Meets System Requirements

The first thing you need to do is make sure your PC meets Marvel Rivals’ system requirements. We already have a dedicated guide for Marvel Rivals’ system requirements, so check that out.

If your PC specifications don’t meet even the minimum requirements, then the game can crash on launch. If your PC barely meets the minimum requirements, then the game can crash if you are playing it on high graphics.

2. Close Background Apps

The next thing you can do is close any Background apps like Nvidia overlayDiscord overlay, or any performance optimization software like Riva Tuner or MSI Afterburner. To turn off Overlays, you must open the app settings and look for Overlay options. After you find it, disable the overlay and try playing the game.

To check for any unnecessary apps running in the background, open Task Manager and look at the processes running. End any unnecessary tasks, and then try playing Marvel Rivals.

3. Verify the Integrity of Game Files

Another solution you can try is to verify the integrity of game files for Marvel Rivals. This lets the game’s launcher check the installed files for any corruption and replace them if needed. Here is how you can verify the integrity of game files on Steam:

  • Open Steam and click on Library.
  • Look for Marvel Rivals and right-click on it to open the menu.
  • Select Properties and then click on Installed Files.
  • Click on Verify Integrity of game files and wait for the scan to finish.

For Epic Games launcher, here is how you can do it:

  • Open Epic Games Launcher and look for Marvel Rivals in the library.
  • Click on the three dots on the game and select Manage.
  • Click on Verify and wait for the scan to finish.

4. Update Graphics Driver

The next obvious step is to update your graphics driver. As Marvel Rivals is a new game, compatible graphics drivers will be released to ensure the game runs smoothly on both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. You install the latest graphics driver for NVIDIA Graphics cards using the new Nvidia app. For AMD Graphics cards, use the Radeon app.

Launch either app based on your Graphics card and head to the Drivers section. Check for new drivers and install them if you find any.
