Who Is Yuzuriha in Hell’s Paradise?

Yuzuriha, better known as Yuzuriha of Keishu, is a deadly kunoichi (female ninja) who served the Kai clan in the past. Later on, Yuzuriha gets convicted of an assassination crime and is sentenced to death. However, Yuzuriha is also one of the inmates who is offered a chance to become free and have all her crimes erased in exchange for discovering the Elixir of Life on Shinsenkyo Island for the Shogun.
Therefore, Yuzuriha becomes a part of the expedition team visiting the bone-chilling paradise island in a quest to find the Elixir of Life. This kunoichi may seem like an antagonist at first, as she was designed as a femme fatale character (a dangerous woman who brings trouble in French). Surprisingly, Yuzuriha becomes an ally and joins Gabimaru’s group to offer a hand in safely escaping from the island.
How Old Is Yuzuriha in Hell’s Paradise?

Yuzuriha’s exact age is never mentioned by the author in the entirety of the Hell’s Paradise series. So it is totally up to readers and anime viewers to reach a conclusion based on the details we have in our hands. All the main characters of Hell’s Paradise, such as Gabimaru, Sagiri, and more, are in their late teenage years.
Therefore, Yuzuriha might fall into the same age bracket and be around 17-19 years old or even in her early 20s in the Hell’s Paradise story. Keep in mind that this is what the fans estimate as Yuzuriha’s official age, which was never disclosed by the author.
Yuzuriha’s Past Life in Hell’s Paradise

In the earliest stages of Hell’s Paradise’s story, Yuzuriha was viewed as a femme fatale character created for the sole purpose of fan service. To be honest, fans weren’t wrong at first, as the kunoichi was seen seducing Gabimaru and many others. But Yuzuriha was cunningly hiding her past just like how she hid her scars.
Yuzuriha hasn’t always been the serene yet tricky and dangerous female ninja all her life. Her past life was brought to life when she passed it off as a fake backstory, but it is the truth. Yuzuriha was lured to become a kunoichi of the Kai clan when a stranger made her believe that there was a cure for the illness of her sister, Saya.
Thus, Yuzuriha gave up everything and served as a female ninja to earn enough money to buy the cure. When Yuzuriha secured enough funds, it was revealed that it was a ploy by the Kai clan chief to lure Yuzuriha and make her serve their clan. Having been betrayed, Yuzuriha then massacred the chief and his clan later on, which led to her getting arrested.
Thus, there was a kind sister who gave everything to save the life of her sister beneath the seductive and menacing kunoichi. Yuzuriha hasn’t been heartless all this time, as she once had a heart that was shredded to pieces. Now, Yuzuriha wanted to escape the island because she wanted to fulfill her sister’s wish of living freely until her death.
What Is Yuzuriha’s Power in Hell’s Paradise?

Similar to Gabimaru, Yuzuriha is also an expert in ninja arts, as she was a kunoichi before being arrested for crimes against the clan she served. Yuzuriha’s special ninjutsu is based on her bodily fluids. She can exude these fluids and shape them as she desires, depending on the battle conditions.
For example, Yuzuriha forms a whip or string using her mucus fluid and uses it to cut her or trap her opponents. In addition, Yuzuriha also has various potions in stock, from sedatives to poison, that she can consume to alter the fluid’s characteristics. In this way, she can coat and enhance her attack powers with different properties.
Since Yuzuriha is a highly skilled kunoichi, she has made use of her ninjutsu to the fullest in her battles. It isn’t completely meant for attacking purposes, as Yuzuriha is also seen coating her body with the fluids to reduce the damage of attacks, as well as hiding her scars to maintain her alluring appearance to trick people.
Is Yuzuriha Dead in Hell’s Paradise?

In Yuzuriha’s life-or-death fight against Ran, one of the seven Lord Tensen members, she loses her life in the battle. Despite the heavy implications that Yuzuriha is no more, the author shocks readers with an unexpected twist where Yuzuriha indeed survives her injuries and rejoins the battle arena once more to lend a hand in defeating Rien, the final villain of Hell’s Paradise.
While fans believed Yuzuriha was dead for quite some time, author Yuji Kaku rewrote her fate, making it a fake-out death to give the character a happy ending after everything she had gone through in her life. While Yuzuriha gets a happy ending, it should be noted that fans were pretty disappointed with the author’s decision to revive Yuzuriha when she had already been left for dead.
That’s everything you need to know about Yuzuriha’s character in the Hell’s Paradise series. In the end, she turned out to be more than just an eye candy character added as a fan service. Despite the bad ending, Yuzuriha remains one of the fan-favorite characters.
