  • The game may launch without GTA Online on November 19, 2026.
  • Rockstar Games hasn't shared any details about GTA 6 Online yet.

Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped about whether Grand Theft Auto VI will include any multiplayer modes or features at launch. However, the official PlayStation Store page for GTA 6 suggests that GTA 6 Online won’t be available at launch on November 19.

GTA 6 May Release Without GTA Online at Release

Apart from gamers who seek the single-player experience in GTA 6, a massive fanbase is awaiting the next edition of GTA Online. While Rockstar Games hasn’t announced anything about GTA 6 online, the FAQ section on the game’s PlayStation Store page has answered whether it will feature a multiplayer mode at launch.

According to the PlayStation Store, GTA 6 is a single-player experience.” So naturally, expect it to launch without the much-touted GTA Online mode. However, this doesn’t mean GTA 6 may never receive a separate online mode in the future. Historically, Rockstar Games has always released the online modes for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 shortly after the game’s launch, especially right before the PC ports of the titles.

So we can expect Rockstar Games to roll out GTA 6 Online sometime after the game launches on November 19, 2026. Earlier reports claimed that GTA 6 wouldn’t repeat GTA 5’s biggest launch mistake. GTA players faced server crashes, and many even lost their progress during GTA 5 Online’s launch.

Now it seems as if Rockstar Games wants to avoid the server issues that will happen if the studio isn’t prepared. The previous Rockstar Games job listings also hinted that GTA 6 wants to become the next Roblox and Fortnite with the launch of the online mode. So, GTA 6 Online is definitely on the cards!

GTA 6’s User Generated Content (UGC) is also expected to produce millionaires, according to Gerard Williams, better known as HipHopGamer. It is thus speculated that the next edition of GTA Online may arrive when GTA 6 releases on PC. So, GTA Online players have to wait patiently until it’s their turn. Until then, what do you think about GTA 6 remaining as a single-player experience at launch? Let us know in the comments below.
