Earlier today, Rockstar finally aired the GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix. Naturally, as soon as the 26-minute showcase ended, the internet went into overdrive, breaking down every frame of the clip and spotting every minor detail coming to GTA 6 gameplay.
Here are all the gameplay elements we spotted while watching the GTA 6 Netflix Extended Look, right from the dual protagonists system to the open-world of Vice City, and more.
Jason and Lucia: Dual Protagonists and Relationship Gameplay in GTA 6
Jason and Lucia are shown as the dual protagonists throughout the GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix. The couple is shown moving through missions together, with the ability to switch between the pair where one is driving while the other shoots during a police chase.
Furthermore, we also see that you can switch between the two even when one of them is involved in an open-world activity like parachuting off of a high-rise building. The switching transition between Jason and Lucia is seamless.
Throughout the GTA 6 Extended Look, it can be seen that when you’re not directly controlling one of the pair, the AI-driven partner, be it Jason or Lucia, acts independently, firing on enemies or helping carry out a robbery in a store or a bank alongside you.
But that’s not all – we also get to see the couple’s relationship in those softer moments with a dedicated hand-holding animation as they walk through a rooftop restaurant as Jason and Lucia head out to meet Brian Hader and his wife Lori, echoing the small relationship-building touches already established before between the two in GTA 6.
According to several gameplay previews, it is also noted that the couple will be able to call or text one another when either of them is involved in a mission and summon their partner.
Players will also be able to switch seats while driving when you switch between Jason and Lucia as you cruise around the open world. GTA 6 features a deep relationship system as well, where the more you’re around your partner and engage in activities, the stronger your bond will become.
However, when it comes to the GTA 6 Extended Look and what we saw, it’s safe to say Lucia and Jason’s loyalties are true to one another, as both have their own set of skills to bring to the table and protect each other. Trust? Trust.
GTA 6 Character Customization, Safehouses and Physical Stats
A cutscene shortly after a job gone wrong shows Lucia and Jason getting ready at their home with a change of clothes, followed by Jason grabbing a beer from the fridge and watching TV. This is similar to everyday safehouse behavior, similar to how GTA 5 handled downtime, now with more detailed interactions.
The GTA 6 Extended Look showcases how the safehouses will be similar to camps in RDR 2, where Jason and Lucia will be able to groom themselves and modify their appearance slightly. However, if you need a new hairstyle in GTA 6, you may need to visit a salon.
Physical Stats is also a new gameplay feature added to GTA 6 where Jason and Lucia will be able to change their body composition based on their activities. We can see Lucia lifting weights at a gym while Jason wrestles in a wrestling ring, which further increases the muscularity and strength of the character.
On the other hand, if you get too hooked on drinking beers or chomping burgers at your favorite fast food joint in GTA 6, you will gain weight and get weaker by smoking too much. Apart from this, you’ll also be able to store spare clothes and weapons in your safehouses and own multiple personal vehicles to be stored in garages. You can also store weapons in vehicle trunks so you always have extra heat when needed.
