- Zelnick stated that the reception to GTA 6 pre-orders has been "exceptional".
- Take-Two also revealed that the company is focused on reception of GTA 6 extended look coming on August 27.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that GTA 6 is on track, and they are sticking to its November 19 release date at the August 7 Take-Two investor call.
Zelnick opened the investor call talking about Take-Two’s upcoming slate of game releases and mentioned that the company is looking forward to the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19, 2026.
Yesterday, Rockstar announced that an extended look at GTA 6 is arriving on Netflix on August 27, 2026. Zelnick, while reaffirming the GTA 6 release date, said, “With the extended look at GTA 6 coming to August 27, anticipation and player excitement continues to build.”
Coming to GTA 6 pre-orders, Zelnick didn’t reveal exact units sold to date; however, he vaguely stated that the company has received “exceptional pre-order reception to GTA 6.”
Aside from the GTA 6 info, Take-Two reported $1.39B in net bookings, which is 2.7% down from last year’s fiscal quarter. A drop nonetheless, especially considering their future goals.
With GTA 6 launching on November 19, 2026, Take-Two is reiterating its Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion. It goes without saying that the new IP will be a major stepping stone in terms of revenue.
This is what Strauss Zelnick had to say:
“With these positive trends and excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, we are reiterating our Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion. Looking further ahead, we expect to sustain this new level of scale and generate strong cash flows, setting us on a path to deliver continued growth and long-term shareholder returns”
On a side note, Take-Two also stated that GTA 5 has sold over 250 million units worldwide to date. Despite the sheer numbers, it’s a mystery why Rockstar chose to make the Kortz Center Heist the last of its kind. Perhaps this indicates the shift towards the development of GTA 6 Community Servers.
