City Buried by Ash Quest Guide — Genshin Impact
City Buried By Ash is Act I of the Lost Traveler in the Ashen Realm World Quest, which revolves around uncovering the secrets of Ochkanatlan. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to complete the City Buried By Ash quest.
Part 1: Starting City Buried by Ash Quest
First, you will need to start the City Buried by Ash quest. To do it, follow these steps:
- Head to the northernmost Teleport waypoint of the Flower-Feather clan. Here you will see a platform with the ability to transform into a Qucusaurus.
- Start flying and head towards Ochkanatlan. You need to first make your way to the Statue of the Seven in Ochkanatlan.
- On the way you will see the Evil Dragon, so simply ignore it and make your way to the Statue of the Seven first.
- The door to the Statue of the Seven will be closed, so you can take the Qucusaurus portal at the left of it to reach the top and head inside, or simply climb the sides of the building.
- After heading inside, interact with the button near the top to start the quest. Don’t forget to unlock the Statue of the Seven after that.
Part 2: Go to Ochkanatlan/Keep Exploring Ochkanatlan
The first two sub-quests you will receive now are to Go to Ochnatlan and Keep Exploring Ochkanatlan. Here is what you need to do:
- Simply make your way towards the city area of the Ochkanatlan, following the quest marker.
- Once you reach the marker, you will see the door closed. Use the stairs on the left to enter the tower from the left side.
- After you head up the stairs, the door in front will open and you will receive a prompt to enter.
On the way you will find hordes of enemies that you don’t need to fight. Just enter the tower to progress the quest.
Part 3: Explore the Tower/Leave the Tower
After entering the Tower, the sub-quest Explore the Tower will begin. During the sub-quest, you will need to solve three puzzles. Here is what you need to do:
- Puzzle 1: The first puzzle is very simple. Use the Spiritspeaker state of the Iktomisaurus to scan the mark on the wall and remove the cube. Interact with the lever to complete the puzzle. Now, head towards the back, where you will find an elevator. Use the elevator to descend into the tower.
- Puzzle 2: After descending below, you will find another puzzle. First, enter the room on the left side and scan the mark on the wall using the Spiritspeaker state of the Iktomisaurus. Next, head towards the stuck door and place the Box under it using the Iktomisaurus’ ability. This will create enough space in the doorway for you to head to the next area.
- Puzzle 3: In the third area, you will find another puzzle with two closed doors and one lever. Use the lever to open the first door, which will close the second door. Head through the first door and you will find a mark on the left wall. Use the Spiritspeaker state of the Iktomisaurus to scan the mark on the wall. Now, place the cube in the first doorway. Go back and use the lever, which will open the second doorway, but this time the first door won’t close due to the cube preventing it.
- After continuing, you will meet Bona and Cocouik and will be taken to the first area of the Tower. Here you will be prompted to leave the tower. Simply break the Abyssal source by hitting it and open the doorway.
Part 4: Explore Ashflow Street and Collect Secret Source Scraps
Next, the sub-quest Explore Ashflow Street and Collect Secret Source Scraps will start. In this sub-quest, all you need to do is collect the Secret source scraps by breaking the Abyssal sources around it. You don’t need to fight the enemies, simply collecting the scraps will progress the quest. The three scraps are marked on the map, so you won’t have issues finding them.
Part 5: Defeat the Evil Dragon with Cocouik
After collecting the three secret source scraps, you will have to fight the Evil Dragon using the power of the Cocouik. This part is basically you shooting at the Evil Dragon using Cocouik, while also defending against its attacks. When it spews fireballs at you, use the defense button to protect yourself. After bursting down the Evil Dragon with the Cocouik, you will enter the final part of the quest.
Part 6: Defeat the Evil Dragon in its Lair
Finally, you will receive the Defeat the Evil Dragon in its Lair sub-quest. As the name suggests, head to the lair and defeat the Evil Dragon. You will have to use Elemental attacks to break down its shield and then deal damage. When the Evil Dragon has around 20% HP left, it will decide to leave the area.
