Who Are The Khans in Fallout Season 2 and What Is Their Origin?
The Khans are a tribe of raiders primarily found near Shady Sands in Fallout New Vegas. However, they were not always raiders. Their clan originated as Vault Dwellers, hailing from Vault-15. The Khans are, as mentioned above, a raiding group of desert warriors whose primary target is the Shady Sands community, with whom they used to share a vault once.
The Khans believe that it is justified for them to attack Shady Sands because of their shared origins, and they also think that they make the lives of the farmers more interesting. However, in the lore of Fallout, the Khans once almost went extinct due to an assault carried out by the Vault Dwellers on their base, and were succeeded by the New Khans and the Great Khans. How Are the Khans Still Around in Fallout Season 2?
One of the major reasons for the survival of the Khans is their origin. As mentioned above, the Khans were initially Vault Dwellers, which saved them from the nuclear war. Moreover, another contributing factor in their survival is their resiliency. The Khans have survived multiple extinction threats; they have been attacked by the Vault Dwellers, which almost ended the clan, but one sole survivor named Darion managed to escape and then formed the New Khans a few years later.
However, the new Khans were also dissolved by the protagonist of Fallout 2, The Chosen One, but a few survivors remained, and in the story of Fallout: New Vegas, the clan once again reemerged as Great Khans under a new leader who called himself Papa Khan. The new clan settled in the Mojave Wasteland, but was once again faced with severe hostility at the hands of the NCR.
