Honkai Star Rail 3.8 has completely changed many of the core storylines of Penacony’s trailblazing missions. It has filled most of the major plot holes in Penacony’s storyline, and also dropped major lore information about the future of the game. With so much information dumped, it is hard for normal players to track all of them. So, here is a list of every major lore drop in Honkai Star Rail 3.8.
1. Stellaron’s Secret

Stellaron is referred to as the cancer of the universe in Honkai Star Rail, and it plays a significant role in destroying worlds. We had previously known that Lord Ravager Celenova planted Stellarons in different worlds. So, the general assumption was that Stellaron was created out of Destruction. However, Honkai Star Rail 3.8 confirms that Stellarons are a cancer that is created out of Harmony, which is an incredible reveal. That’s likely why Harmony is part of one of the four apocalypses of Finality.
2. Black Cats

For the longest time, we have seen a black cat accompanying the Stellaron Hunters. This black cat was previously assumed to be Elio. In Honkai Star Rail 3.8, we learn that the black cat is not Elio and that he is a much more ‘special being’. The black cats, however, are also quite special. According to The Dahlia, Terminus, the Aeon presiding over the path of Finality, split its divine corpus into black cats. So, these black cats hold a portion of Terminus’ power, and there are countless of them all over Star Rail’s universe.
3. Lord Ravager Ephemera

One of the major highlights of Honkai Star Rail 3.8 was The Dahlia. She is likely the hardest character to understand due to her constant nature of betrayal. Her motivations have been in doubt, as no one exactly knows what she truly wants. But one of her motivations was to join the Stellaron Hunters, which she had tried previously as well. Shockingly, Silver Wolf denied her request and told her that Elio doesn’t want her to join the Stellaron Hunters. According to Elio’s script, if The Dahlia does join them, she will eventually betray them and become the Lord Ravager Ephemera and target destroying the path of Remembrance.
4. Gopher Wood

Gopher Wood got a lot more screentime in Honkai Star Rail 3.8 than he did in the entire Penacony storyline. He was the main villain behind the entire story, but barely got any screentime, which made players unsure what to think about him. HSR 3.8 fixes that by sharing Gopher Wood’s motivations behind the Penacony incident. It was revealed that after Gopher Wood’s death, he could only exist in the dream. Still, he was pressured by The Family, which is when he decided to turn to Order and revive Ena.
To do it, he realised that he needed to revive the Swarm, as during the Swarm’s invasions, Order reached its peak due to everyone seeking balance. With AR-214’s appearance in Penacony and later Firefly’s appearance, he used their connection to the Path of Propagation to revive the Swarm in the dream.
5. Robin’s Death in Penacony

Robin’s death during the Penacony trailblazing missions was one of the details that remained unanswered till Honkai Star Rail 3.8 arrived. In version 3.8, we learned that Robin was not killed by Something Unto Death, but by Sparkle. The beloved member of the Masked Fool used her powers to kill Robin and send her to the dreamscape.
6. Sunday’s Near Aeonhood

At the end of the Penacony trailblazing missions, in HSR 2.2, we see Sunday at the peak of his powers, going far beyond an Emanator of Harmony or Order, and almost attaining Aeonhood. Honkai Star Rail 3.8 confirms this fact that Sunday came very close to becoming an Aeon; however, it was not Ena or the Aeon of Order that he would have ended up becoming. Sunday was on his way to becoming either the Aeon of Conquest or Domination.
7. Trailblazer’s Influence on Terminus

Finally, it was revealed that according to Elio’s script, Trailblazer is someone who can change destiny or fate. Although we have seen this happen countless times already with the Trailblazer changing fates for every world they step onto, this mention does have a major significance. We see the Trailblazer influence Terminus in Honkai Star Rail 3.8 using their emotions, which hints that they are both connected in some way. Our new theory is that the Trailblazer is both Akivili and Terminus. He was Akivili in the past and will become Terminus at the end of the Universe.
