Jori, Eldedr Inquisitor Location in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

The Darklight Catacombs location to fight Jori in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Jori, Elder Inquisitor hides in the Darklight Catacombs in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. As such, Jori is the final boss of this catacomb, and you’ll have to finish it to face him. You’ll find these catacombs if you follow downstream from the Ruins of Unte.

However, do note that you must enter Shadow Keep and defeat Golden Hippopotamus even to progress and reach this area in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.

Jori, Elder Inquisitor Weaknesses in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Even though this Elden Ring DLC boss might be hard, it comes with its own set of weaknesses. So if you’re going to be facing it soon, here are some of Jori, Elder Inquisitor’s weaknesses you should keep an eye on:

  • Weak to physical damage: Like most boss fights up to this point, Jori is weak to heavy physical damage. If you are a greatsword user, you are in luck. Some jumping attacks on Jori will break its poise, allowing you to deal critical damage.
  • Ranged attacks are key: If you have some ranged attacks, you can also damage Jori by hiding behind tombstones and rocks. Hence, if you are that one insane Elden Ring player running a crossbow/bow build, you will be lucky to fight Jori.

Outside of these two, Jori doesn’t have many innate weaknesses. Your best bet in this fight is to brute force the boss as much as possible and let it take the damage. Fortunately, if you have considerably leveled up by the time you started progressing through the DLC, you’ll have an easier time killing Jori.

How to Beat Jori, Elder Inquisitor in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Now that we know its weaknesses in the fight let’s consider how to beat this boss and what to look out for. Jori in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has two phases. However, you only have to worry about one single health bar. Hence, here is how to deal with Jori, Elder Inquisitor in Elden Ring.

How to Fight Jori, Elder Inquisitor in Phase 1

The first phase of Jori is a breeze, allowing you to roll and take your time beating the boss. Here are some things you should remember:

  • Concoct a magic-resisting Flask of Wondrous Physicks: Jori, Elder Inquisitor, uses magic to damage you. Hence, create a Flask of Wondrous Physick to resist magic damage. The best one here is to use the Opaline Tear, which boosts damage negation by 15% for three minutes. So you’ll take less damage.
  • Use a stamina-recovering Crystal Tear: Another thing you’ll do quite a lot throughout this fight is ru. Running takes up a lot of stamina. Hence, add a crystal tear in your Flask of Wondrous Physicks that allows you to recover your stamina or remove stamina loss for a set duration. Greenburst Crystal Tear or Greenspill Crystal Tear is an excellent choice to consider.
  • Wear a magic-resisting armor: Very self-descriptive tip. Try to wear magic-resisting armor as Jori performs magic attacks. This will help you tank most of his damage easily.
  • Look out for the magic slash: When you enter the boss room for the first time, you’ll see Jori shooting a magic slash toward you. The best thing to do here is to dodge, as the attack is to dodge IFrames. Similarly, Jori, Elder Inquisitor will do a more extensive magic slash, which you can dodge easily if timed well.
  • Run: Remember how I said you will be running a lot? I wasn’t lying. You’ll have to frequently close the distance against Jori in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, as the boss prefers keeping his distance from you. After a few hits, they will teleport, so dodge and run as much as you can toward the boss to hit them.
  • Keep an eye on magic AoE attack: Jori occasionally performs an AoE right under your nose. This will be shown by a golden aura around you. So, when you see it, roll out of the way.

How to Fight Jori, Elder Inquisitor in Phase 2

Jori, Elder Inquisitor’s second phase begins after Jori drops their health down to 50%. While their attack pattern stays pretty similar, some additional things are added. Here’s what to remember when fighting the second phase of Jori in Shadow of the Erdtree.

  • Mind the summons: On top of every existing attack from the first phase, Jori will summon four apparitions and a giant apparition. The four will get spawned near you, breathing fire toward you or performing similar magic attacks to Jori’s. Similarly, the large one will physically damage and fire attacks when near you. The best tip here is to eliminate the larger one while ignoring the others. Focus solely on Jori, as you can dodge the summons easily.
  • Keep an eye on multiple magic AoEs: Jori, at one point, will summon multiple AoE magic blasts where you stand. The best thing to do here is just run all around the place. You’ll miss out on every single AoE magic attack like that.
  • Use a Spirit Ash: If you want, you can summon a spirit ash. It will get the attention of the summons and Jori towards it. So you can focus on beating Jori and win the fight more efficiently.

Provided you keep the tips above in mind and bring its HP bar down enough, you should easily beat Jori, Elder Inquisitor in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. As you can see yourself, while the new Elden Ring DLC boss fights are pretty ruthless, Jori’s fight is possibly the more accessible out of the lot.

Jori, Elder Inquisitor Boss Fight Rewards

This weapon is the same one Jori uses to perform magic at you, and now you can use it to become a menace against other players.
