The next Battlefield game has been undergoing rigorous testing as part of the Battlefield Labs program. In an attempt to make the next addition to the franchise more player-friendly than ever, Dice has allowed players worldwide to play an early version of the game hands-on. In a brand-new development, we now have an official release window for the final product.

During the latest EA earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed that the upcoming Battlefield game will be released by March 2026. He added that the company is “on track” to reveal the title at a major summer event, which could easily be the Summer Games Fest, Microsoft’s Xbox Showcase, or a special Battlefield reveal show. Wilson added that the game is a “pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment.”

While we can’t be sure of what the finished product will look like, there have been a host of leaks from the aforementioned Battlefield Labs program. These include weapon details, combat mechanics, and vehicular gameplay. Players have also received a lengthy look at the franchise’s signature destruction mechanics, which the devs intend to flesh out and make more easily identifiable.

News of the release window was accompanied by announcing a new playtest. As relayed via the official Battlefield Comms account on X (formerly Twitter), the program will invite more players throughout May across Europe, North America, and select Asian regions. Besides testing new content, the devs will continue to gather feedback and focus on balancing the different weapon archetypes and damage values, as well as movement and combat pacing mechanics.

The in-game Destruction will also remain a core target across play sessions, so expect to see new objects and surfaces that can come crashing down like a deck of cards. If you’re looking to get involved, be sure to check out our guide on how to sign up for Battlefield Labs.
