- The Trickster is a great choice for new players because it's one of the first advanced vocations you can access in Dragon's Dogma 2.
- Unlocking the Trickster ties into the main story, so follow the quests until you reach the city of Battahl.
- Once in Battahl, head to the Reverent Shrine east of the city. Find and interact with Luz, and ask her to tell you the godsway's secret to unlock the Trickster.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 comes with a lot of different vocations. While some are basic, some advanced vocations are often hard or tricky to find. Focused on confusing your enemies, the Trickster is one of the easiest vocations (classes) to unlock in the game. Although it is a mere wait to complete the main quest, the enemies you encounter can be devastating. Thankfully, I still managed to unlock this class, and you can too. So, without further ado, let’s learn how to unlock the trickster vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Get Trickster Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Before you unlock this advanced vocation, keep in mind that you need to do certain things in the main quest first. This includes getting the Border Entry Permit to enter Battahl, which you can only get by completing Captain Brandt‘s quests in the previous region.
You will also need a Beastren mask to get through a gate in the middle. So, progressing in the main story is essential for this vocation. As soon as you unlock the Battahl area, follow the steps below to unlock the Trickster vocation:
- Start by locating the Reverent Shrine on the east side of the Battahl Forest. It will be a small building near the river.
- Now, find the Trickster Maister Luz right by the steps in the shrine and interact with her.
- Once you interact and go through all the conversation options, ask her to “tell you the godsway’s secret.” This will unlock the Trickster vocation.
Should You Unlock Trickster in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Keep in mind that Trickster isn’t your typical fighter. They focus on outsmarting enemies rather than brute force. Their unique weapon, the Censer, creates smoke illusions that both distract foes and buff allies.
These phantoms can lure enemies into danger zones, like cliffs, or create openings for teammates to unleash devastating attacks. Tricksters can even project their astral form to scout dangerous areas without risking their life.
So, if you are the type who wants to play tricks on enemies, this is an ideal vocation for you. However, if you want to stay in front and fight, you can unlock the Mystic Spearhand vocation instead.
