Even though the hype for the return of Matt Murdock was insanely high, along with him, there was a massive hype for the return of Frank Castle AKA the big bad Punisher. However, by the end of Daredevil Born Again Episode 9, we saw him in a situation where it’s pretty difficult to walk out alive from. So now the question arises, did the Punisher die in Daredevil: Born Again episode 9? Let’s find out.
Is the Punisher Dead in Daredevil Born Again?
In Daredevil Born Again episode 9, we see that Frank saves Daredevil from an attack orchestrated by Fisk’s task force, and then he escapes to his hideout. Following this, the Punisher gets to know that the Anti-Vigilante Task Force is stationed at the Red Hook port, and even though he is advised otherwise by Daredevil, he goes there alone, guns blazing. Punisher managed to take down some of the bad guys, but in the process, he was shot multiple times, stabbed, and hit. Eventually, he was overpowered and captured by the Task Force.
We see that he has been tied to a chair and is being convinced to join forces with the Task Force. However, the Punisher obviously declines and is hence beaten non-stop by the cops, which might give the impression that he died by the end of Daredevil: Born Again episode 9.

No, \the Punisher did not die in Daredevil Born Again. By the end of episode 9, we see that he has been locked in a cage by Kingpin along with others who went against him at Red Hook. On top of that, if you stick around for the post-credit scene of Daredevil Born Again, you’ll see that Frank lured the cop guarding the cages and successfully retrieved the key to his cage.
So, we know that he managed to escape, but as of now, we are not sure if the story following his escape will be shown in the upcoming Punisher Special or directly in Daredevil Born Again Season 2. So, with that being said, it is certain that The Punisher is up and alive and will return soon.
