Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is the next massive installment in the franchise. The latest Modern Warfare 4 title comes bundled with a variety of game modes. Infinity Ward has developed completely new modes for MW4, and several classic ones are returning as well. In line with the previous CoD titles, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will feature different modes, from Campaign to the revamped DMZ. So, let’s go over all the game modes available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4:

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Mode

Of course, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 includes a campaign mode at launch. Get ready to experience an interwoven storyline in MW4. As Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set in South Korea, players will take on the role of Private Park Hyun Jun (played by Young Mazino), a rookie South Korean soldier experiencing the horrors of war during North Korea’s invasion.

On the other hand, Captain Price and Ghost also return in the Korean setting. Now, as an outlaw, Captain Price operates in the shadows and is on the hunt for a weapon of mass destruction. If you are looking for the official synopsis of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, it is as follows:

“War erupts on the Korean Peninsula as North Korea launches a full-scale invasion that threatens to destabilize the world. As usual, CoD players can expect globetrotting action-adventure in MW4 as Infinity Ward has revealed that players will experience trench warfare in Korea, close-quarters combat in New York, high-octane chases through Paris, SAS night raids in Mumbai, and many more city-wide assaults.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer Modes

On the multiplayer side, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 features a total of 17 modes. More new modes will be added to the game post-launch. For now, here are all the confirmed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer modes:

Respawn

• Team Deathmatch: Two teams compete, and whoever secures the most kills or reaches the target score wins.
• Domination: Two teams engage in a fierce battle to capture three distinct objective areas on the map. Whoever takes control of the most objectives and earns enough required points wins the match.
• Hardpoint: Each team now has to compete to take control of an objective area that keeps changing throughout the match.
• Kill Confirmed: It is very similar to TDM mode, with one big change: players need to collect the defeated enemy’s dog tag to confirm the kill.
• Free for All: Players won’t be assigned to any side and are on their own, and the player who secures the elimination target score first wins.
• Counter Attack: A brand-new mode focused on counter-attacking, and the well-performing team takes home the win.
• Inflation: A bounty-style spin on Kill Confirmed. Kill enemies and loot their bodies to collect money. The team that collects the most money wins!
• Hijack: The attacking team needs to carry a Data Spike and plant it at an enemy Comm Station, whereas defenders need to prevent them from planting the device.
• Frontline: 6v6 pure elimination-focused mode where finishing off opponents outside their base offers you more points.

Round-Based

• Search and Destroy: One team needs to plant a bomb, and the other needs to stop them at all costs.
• Gun Fight: A 3v3 fight; each player receives the same randomized set of weapons and equipment, offering a fair fight.
• Gun Fight 10v10: Players receive randomized loadouts each round, but this time each team has a total of 10 players.
• Arms Deal: Collect money by securing kills and wrapping up objectives. Use the money to get limited weapons and equipment each round.

Big War

• Combat Outpost: Capture, hold, and reinforce outposts. Reinforcing captured outposts unlocks valuable team rewards.
• Frontal Assault: Features a large-scale map, infantry and vehicle combat, and more

Party

• Gun Game: Each player is handed a weapon at the start and receives a new weapon as they begin eliminating others. The first player to swiftly secure eliminations and complete using all the given weapons wins the Gun Game.
• Drop Zone: Teams fight for their lives to capture and control the Drop Zone. Capturing the special zone unlocks temporary killstreak-esque buffs.

Training

• Mobility Course: A training mode with numerous levels to help players master the new movements introduced in MW4.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mode

DMZ, Call of Duty’s extraction shooter mode, is also returning in Modern Warfare 4. Players will be dropping in Hajin, and the mode has also received significant changes, including a new bodycam view specially made for the DMZ mode in MW4.

In addition to being tasked with completing Dynamic Operations (multi-step objectives), players are pitted against both human opponents and AI enemies.

DMZ features a dynamic weather system. Sudden rain, fog, or storms will affect your gameplay. Furthermore, players receive tactical tools such as night vision for navigating the pitch-dark locations within the exclusion zone.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Warzone

Lastly, the fan-favorite battle royale mode, Warzone, is also available in Modern Warfare 4. The Hajin Exclusion Zone from DMZ mode will also be a main map of Warzone in CoD Modern Warfare Season 1. In addition, there is a new map called Zodiac for the Resurgence matches available as part of Warzone.
