  • The game mode is all about completing assignments to level up Operators and unlocking powerful abilities to make future runs easier.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is going all out for its campaign experience, with a variety of different locations and a new final mission format that is genuinely worth being excited about. Aptly named ‘Endgame,’ the level integrates multiplayer elements into the campaign for the first time, complete with shared progress and plenty of replayability. Being a fresh experience, players will undoubtedly have some questions regarding its format and mechanics. To help address some of those doubts, here’s everything to know about the Endgame mode in Black Ops 7 so far.

Black Ops 7 Endgame Mode Explained

Endgame is a replayable 1-32 player PvE (player versus environment) mode set in Avalon. It becomes accessible right near the end of the campaign, and can be played solo or in co-op. Its setting comprises the entirety of the Avalon map, including the two sectioned Skirmish maps that will be available at launch.

The game mode is essentially an evolution of DMZ, with NPC enemies, lootable items, and some Extraction Shooter-like elements. Endgame matches kick off with your squad soaring above the maps using wingsuits. After making your descent, you’ll be given a set of objectives to complete that are spread across different areas of the map, each with its own difficulty tier.

Along the way, you’ll be able to pick up loot such as equipment and weapons. Successfully exfilling with these items in your possession will allow you to bring them into fresh runs, but if your squad goes down, all the items are lost. The central objective behind the mode is to complete assignments and increase your Operator’s power level, eventually reaching a Combat Rating of 60.

Before jumping into Avalon, you’ll be free to put together custom loadouts using any of the primary and secondary weapons. As mentioned earlier, you can also retain items you escaped with during previous runs in the ‘Field Acquisition’ section of your Loadout.

Black Ops 7 Endgame Mode Progression Explained

Global progression is confirmed to be present in the co-op campaign, but Endgame takes things a step further. For starters, you’ll be able to use any of the Operators unlocked in the campaign to play the final mission. Similarly, unlocked abilities found in the campaign, such as the Grapple Hook, will also be available in Endgame.

Every Operator in the mode has their own Combat Rating that can be progressed by completing activities, assignments, and defeating enemies. When your power increases, you can choose new Power Upgrades or Skills that increase your Combat Rating.

Power Upgrades increase stats such as health, armor, mobility, and damage, while Skill unlocks are Perk-like upgrades that help solidify your character’s archetype. On top of this, Operators can also be fitted with two special abilities, like leaping several stories to traverse distances or warping instantly towards any given direction.

That said, death will result in things reverting back to square one, meaning your looted items will be lost, and your Combat Rating will also be reset.

That wraps up everything we know about the new Endgame mode in Black Ops 7 so far. The devs will provide detailed insight into the game mode in the coming weeks, and we’ll be sure to update this article with new information as soon as it drops. Until then, let us know your initial impressions of the Endgame mode in the comments.
